Decent Bed For The Price (When on Sale)
It isn't often you can get a decent looking bed frame for less than $250 (at least that's the price I got a deal on by using Lowes' price match guarantee given that this is available for cheaper on other popular e-retailers). Tl;dr: it's a cheap bed and you get what you pay for, but in its category, it's pretty good. Great for a young professional moving into their first proper home.
All in all, the product is fine. It has a really nice contemporary look. The fake leather very much looks and feels like fake leather and the stitched seam around the headboard is a bit floppy, but otherwise it feels nice and the headboard is well padded.
Note that the headboard is not very high, and in their specs, they do recommend getting a LOW PROFILE box spring (about 2"). I opted for a 5" low profile box with a new 18" mattress, and it's on the verge of being too high on this frame. A normal box spring will make your bed nearly cover the entire headboard.
The frame itself felt flimsy when being assembled (and the rubberwood pieces did feel cheap) but once all together, the frame is actually very sturdy. the legs supporting the middle slats feel cheap and need to be tightened down a lot to avoid the threaded inserts spinning, but do the job once in place. The instructions weren't super clear as they didn't quite tell you what tools to use or how far to space apart the slats, but with some intuition and vaguely following the pictures, any capable builder can figure it out.
All in all, I'm fairly satisfied with it. You can get much better bed frames if you look at solid wood frames/headboards or anything pricier, but for a bed that isn't a platform ikea style, this is as good as it gets under $300. Would not pay full price.
