Do you need to attach it to a compressor? Just asking due to the nipple mount on the back. Thanks

Asked by: Bossmare
Yes, it’s an air tool and works well in hard to reach places where it fits with your hand holding it, so not in all locations.

Mini Impact Nailer - Insulated Grip is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it's weight in gold ! I am residing my house with Hardee plank siding. When using a hammer, my wrist gets sore, so I was not looking forward to this project. Saw this in the Lowes store and thought I would give it a try. This thing works fantastic. A magnet in the tip holds the nail, so you can start one handed, press on the nail and it drive it right in. When the nail is flush it stops firing. This device has saved me a lot of tendonitis pain and work. 100 psi on the compressor and this drives like a pro. Much, much cheaper than buying a finish nailer. I recommend this nailer 100%. Comes with a great warranty as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought it sooner. I bought this to use in a very tight space to nail in a single nail. A framing nailer definitely would not fit and using a hammer would have taken all day. This drove the nail with no effort. I also used it to drive nails into metal corner bead, as I am boxing in vent work. This took the place of having to hammer in nails upside down, saving time and potential damage to the corner bead. By using the tool properly you can drive in as far as you need to and stop to check the depth of the nail, and administer single hits if needed. For the price this tool is one of the best tool purchases I have yet made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing since ... cordless drills!!! I am finishing a basement and I was reluctant to either buy a ~$300 framing nailer or use a regular hammer. Got this instead and I'm so glad I did! 3" full head spiral nails are hammered like in butter with this little nailer. It's so small it fits in places you would have no way to hammer a nail, the only alternative would be to use screws. Very little support of wood pieces when nailing, I can now focus on precisely positioning the 2x4s, tapping the tool lightly to start the nail in the right location / direction and then in 3 seconds it's all in. It's surprising how well it works, I had no idea or else I would have owned one years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tight quarters Bought this palm nailer to hang some fascia and suffit that I was replacing. I have a siding nailer that did most of the work, however I had a tight area that I could not get my nail gun or regular hammer and nails at and this little guy did the trick. Handles nails of various lengths with ease. You do not have to place hardly any pressure for this nailer to set the nail. I recommend it to anyone that has a tight area that needs to be nailed and can't get it with a full size nail gun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice in tight spaces Avid-DIYer: Very useful to mounting joist hangers to bearing beam in attic. Could not get in with a regular hammer or framing gun. Has a harder time with the framing lumber in my 1950s house, which is really hard. Could not have done without this tool on my current project which was replacing load bearing wall with hidden beam in attic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it Being a 67 year old female I have found standard framing nailers too heavy for my weak wrist. I could start a nail but need a hammer to finish it. With this light weight Bostich I was able to handle it with ease. It is light weight, don't jam, and even if I didn't get the nail all the way, the nailer will let me have a second go at it which worked. It is now my favorite tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A darn handy thing to have around. My main reason for notching this down one star is that the product description and the packaging are seriously lacking! I could not be certain of all of this things features until after I bought it. I was doing a fence repair job, and the customer wanted to save as much money as possible, so we reused as many old boards at we could. AND NAILS. So not wanting to rent or buy a big heavy duty nail gun, this thing caught my eye. What you need to know: It's a pneumatic impact hammer It is pressure actuated from inside of the sleeve. It can drive 3 1/2" + nails. (smallest would probably be .75 inch) What ever fits inside the sleeve, it will work with. It has a nail retaining magnet Working pressure 75-125 psi It can run a decent amount of time on 10 gal of air (external tank was what I carried around for most of it) It is FAST, COMPACT, and POWERFUL *It does not SHOOT nails* It has a small piston that rapidly rams the nail head the harder you push your palm on it. It's like having 8-10 hammer strikes happen in about 1-2.5 seconds flat. *It bites back, be careful! The sleeve has a magnet on one side of the ring, inserting and retaining the nail. I found that rotating the sleeve around so the magnet is on top, is best. When inserting a nail, use only thumb and index finger and keep it along the sides do not put your hand in front of this when a nail is in it. If you push the nail into the sleeve, it will actuate the impact in a quick burst and it bites you a little bit. No big deal, but surprising nonetheless. Be safe! When you first connect to your air line, it it is leaking from the piston just press it firmly against a scrap board and actuate it, the leaking should stop. Be sure to oil it before and after you use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effortless Nailing in tight spots Lightweight, good feel, specially the swivel disconnect - doesn't bind or hamper your use of the tool. Be sure to wear earplugs if you are doing a lot of nailing! Some of my 16d nails didn't fit into the nose but I think that my problem was that the nailhead size was not consistent - but the nose could have been a tiny bit larger.
