Buy more than you estimate!
I bought this in natural beige for my peninsula fireplace surround. For estimating purposes use 6 sq ft not 7 as shown by Rona. There are 7 pieces per box and each composite tile measures a consistent 6" high x but minimum 21 inches long ... With jigsaw style interlocking, the length is a little variable. And there will be waste at the project edges. The other 2 things to note. They are dusty and will need a rinse. And according to the instructions, you'll need to buy a tile sealer. Elsewhere on the net, the DIy recommend 2 coats
I will update as I install but so far, the quality is good but even in bland beige, there's a lot of colour variations. It looks like it will be easy to install. BTW they're on sale Dec 2018, but even at regular price Rona is significantly less expensive than a similar product in a big box store in Omak, WA

Update on pennisula fireplace using ledgestone
I'm a 66 year old woman. The gas fireplace insert was professionally installed last winter. This winter, I built the substructure out of cement board, being careful to ensure that there is nothing combustible anywhere near the firebox (check local codes). Then I clad it in ledgestone.
Suggestions based in lessons I learned:
1. Buy a small wet tile saw. It will cut ledgestone like butter
2. Plan on applying gobs of glue with a plastic scraper. The stones are uneven, so you'll need quite a bit of glue
3. Plan to do one side a day and use plastic shims to level it. The glue takes about 12 hours to dry and if you apply too many rows, stones will start falling off. They will
4. Plan for natural convection heating by adding 2 access vents on the sides: cold air intake near the floor and a hot air exhaust at around 5 feet. You'll be amazed at the heat that would have been lost!
The result is beautiful! And the randomness of whether 1 the ledgestone hides any errors I made. See photo.
