This Kobalt lawn mower is both versatile and efficient. A member of the 80V MAX collection, it is equipped with a brushless motor that is powered by a high-voltage battery of 80 V, which allows you to avoid the hazards related to fuel handling and toxic fumes. Its 21" cutting deck is made of steel for added efficiency and durability. This push mower offers 7 height positions to cut your grass at the length you need. Thanks to its 3-in-1 design, you can enjoy features like side discharge, mulching and rear bagging. This lawn mower is sold with a charger and 2 batteries of 80 V and 2 Ah, with a charge time of 30 minutes. This item is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Using an electric tool generates significantly fewer greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollutants than a conventional model using gasoline.

Ok but I will be returningIt sells itself as a gas mower replacement. It's close, but it's main flaw is the speed sensor. It will mow at a lower level till it senses it needs more power for thick grass, then kick up to high speed. That high speed is closer to a gas mower. The mower should have a switch to bypass the sensor to select the speed you want.
The mower cut the grass pretty good, but I had some leafs on the short grass I wanted the mower to pic up ( I've done many times with my gas mower), but the kobalt was is low gear and did not do a good gob on the leaves. High gear would have been nice. So close kobalt, so close.

Clean and quietA bit of an investment for a mower but it is perfect for an urban lawn 7000 sq ft. One battery did the work on a single charge on a dry medium length lawn, although the 2nd battery was available if needed. When grass is damp or dense, the motor automatically revs up to handle the extra demand which is a practical feature, plus this is where the second battery is needed if you use the mower when it has to work harder throughout. Charging is less than 30 min per battery, so you can charge the drained battery after a change if your lawn is larger. No more hearing loss or exhaust fumes and it is lighter and easier to push or store.

Powerful mower, great warrantyPurchased not too long ago and only used a few times. I have a medium sized front yard but a large rear yard. I was able to mow the front and back yard using only one (of two) batteries which was fully charged.
The mower itself is rather heavy. My last two battery powered push mowers had plastic decks and we much lighter and easy to manipulate (plus no rusting).
So far, so good. I can't find the serial number to register the product for my 5 year warranty however. I'm sure I'll find it eventually.
Battery charges in only 30 minutes thanks to a fan built in to the charger.
I purchased it on sale and with additional savings. Not sure it's worth purchasing at full retail pricing.

Another point rarely menitionedI bought my Kobalt mower in April. With all the rain we have been getting, I have been mowing the lawn twice a week. I am not going to repeat all the wonderful things mentioned about this mower in the reviews.
Here is something no one has talked about yet. This mower comes with a wider set of wheels than I have seen on other lawn mowers. Combined with the mowers light weight. it hardly leaves any tracks on the lawn. They disappear very soon compared to the neighbours lawn who uses a gas mower with skinnier wheels.

Great mowerAfter reviewing many reviews I decided upon the Kobalt 21 80 Volt mower. The mower was often in the top ten push mower recommended and many times in the top three. It was easy to put together right from the box and it is easy to push across the grass. I've kept the mower up two notches to keep my grass longer this summer and so have now cut my grass four times since purchasing it. Each time the worked very well and it is so great to have a second battery ready to go. I can almost cut my front, back and sides of my yard with one battery. I have not had any reason to cut wet grass yet. Lowe's had a great price for the purchase of the mower during the Victoria day weekend. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Worked out of the box after a short charge. I have a sufficiently small lawn that Idon't fully drain one of the two batteries. The mower folds up easily for storage and the included charger does a good job charging the batteries. The 80v batteries gave the motor enough torque to chew through tall grass and weeds when it needed to.
Very satisfies wit the product thus far.
Oh ... and the batteries are interchangeable with the other products although the parts are obscure. A google search does not yield the Canadian supplier of other Kobalt tools, else I would have shared it.

Best mower ever!I've had this mower for about a month now. So far I've only used the bagging and mulching feature.
Quality: It is a pretty sturdy mower (a bit on the heavy side) and I haven't had any problems.
Battery life: The machine comes with two batteries. The batteries require a bit of force to put in and take out. Battery life is great if you use the bagging feature. Recharge time is quick (~30 minutes) and I can usually finish mowing my lot and half with bars remaining on both batteries and no need to recharge until the next session. Mulching drains the batteries rather quickly and a recharge is required.
Bagging/mulching: Bagging grass clippings is a cinch and the bag is easy enough to mount or remove. The machine was less impressive when it came to mulching. It pretty much just cut the grass and discharged it allowing it to clump more often then not.
Cost: Cost was bang on as I purchased the mower on sale.
Noise: The noise emitted by the lawn mower is reasonable and not bothersome. It does sometimes rev up for no apparent reason and that can be a tad bit on the loud side.
Cut: This machine gave the lawn a nice even cut straight out of the box.
I would purchase this brand/machine again and would recommend it to others.

Lightweight but light on powerThe light weight makes this machine easy to manoeuvre, and it does a fine job of cutting grass, even fairly thick and tall grass. However, it lacks suction to pull up small twigs and dead leaves. If they made the Turbo feature controllable it might remove this shortcoming
