Utility Knife is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Utility Knife I've ever owned. Period. I use my knife on a daily basis for work. Did not figure I'd need to read reviews before purchasing a utility knife, but now I know. My favorite knife is a Stanley and this fits the other end of the spectrum, HORRIBLE. It all looks cool and feels good in your hand until you try to cut something. The blade pulls out of the knife on your cut stroke if you have any pressure on it. I thought that was the point of a knife. Put pressure as you cut through drywall for example. Blade pulls out and today it even completely left the knife and was sticking out of my half cut drywall seam. Yes I know how to load the knife. I have to do it over and over and over and over. Probably ok for cutting Jello, but for anything else just don't waste your time. This is going back to Lowes as no tool has ever made me so angry. Piece of junk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good utility knife Bought this after my previous 2 blade Bostitch wore out. Comfortable grip and angled head. Read the poor reviews this was getting and had to respond. The blade loads as most typical tool free blades do. Many reviews said there were no adequate instructions on how to load blade. First off, if you need instructions on how to load the blade, you probably don't use one enough to warrant a quick change blade. This feature is geared more towards construction workers that use them daily. So do yourself a favor and buy the ones that need a screwdriver to change the blade. It will save you the aggrevation of giving any product a bad review. Secondly, if you need instructions on how to load a blade, you probably shouldn't be using a utility knife to begin with. So far this seems as good as any utility knife I have used. Time will tell but let's face it, NOTHING is made as well as they could be anymore. We live in a throw-away society and that's that. Hope this helps clear up any confusion to those looking to buy a utility knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value I bought this knife while in the middle of tiling 400 square feet. I have used it for a year and love it. I've used it cutting drywall, scoring backer board, cleaning mortar off things, and so many more tough jobs and it works like a champ. I read the other reviews and couldn't disagree more...it isn't cheap or difficult to use. The packaging does provide specific instructions on how to insert new blades. The blades stay very well in place, when inserted properly and far enough. It offers much quicker exchange of the blades and I don't have to go get a screw driver like the cheap ones to change the blade. I actually bought this for my girlfriend in the first place. She loves it so much we actually got one for my mom, her mom, and another for us this holiday season. When you buy it, don't expect it to be just like every other utility knife out there...get used to it and you will be much happier with it in the long run.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design all around. I use a utility knife daily as a floor installer. My favorite is an old Stanley quick change that I thought was lost. This was to be the replacement to that knife... Thank God I found the old one. Only 2 complaints : First, The button placement for the rear storage door are horrible making it difficult to remove from pocket without opening door. Second, The blade fell out 4 times while cutting a 7' stethoscope of carpet... Very inconvenient, very annoying, very unsafe. I threw it away immediately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst utility knife ever Would not hold a blade right off the bat. Mechanism that holds blade is plastic and broke with the first few hours of use. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from In the trash When cutting through material thicker than paper, the blade locking mechanism releases and the blade stays embedded in the material you're cutting. When applying a lot of pressure, the sudden release of the blade moves your hand quickly across the back side of the blade. This is so dangerous. Also, the quick release on the blade doesn't work well. I'll go back to my 15 year old Stanley utility knife that requires a screw driver to change the blade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Product This knife is extremely poor quality. I purchased this to replace a Fatmax utility knife I had for about 1 year when it broke. This one is made even cheaper then the previous one. On this one the blade will not stay in its holder. When I try to cut something the blade slides completely out of the knife. The little button on the side of the knife is not strong enough to keep the blade locked into its holder when any pressure is applied to the blade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware blade pulls out of handle The blade pulls out of handle when cutting drywall or other things that grip side of blade some what. Joke made in china - nice handle - took back to store.
