Kerdi systems
Worked great. Was our first time using and it was pretty easy to install for a do it yourselfer. That being said there were additional pieces that could be ordered like nook pieces we wish we had been told about before we started the project. As we ended up doing a make shift book for shampoo soap. Had I not been creative and use to doing home improvement projects this would not have been possible with what I had. It was the most time consuming part of the project. We did our shower/tub combo and went right over the old plaster were the tile had been taken down. We used it thinking it would save us money and be easier to use. Was much harder then doing traditional water barrier and cement board, and took much longer. And ended up cost a bit more in the end. Results were as good as cement board and it really does end up feeling just like cement board with water proofer built in. Was not the easiest route, but turned out great. It did take a couple attempts on the first piece to get the hang of it.

Best way to waterproof a shower
Built a new shower and used the Kerri membrane to water proof it. Easy to install and makes a great surface for tile. Pricey but the best way to get a quality shower.

Be meticulous!
Watch the video, follow directions meticulously and be ready to cover yourself in thin set! That said, the product is great. I have used it over drywall many times without fail. Be sure to get unmodified Thunder.

Have every thing ready and at hand. It embeds well if the mortar is wet. Finished job looks great.

Hard to say
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having no previous long term experience I'm not sure
but, it appears to be a good product. I like the goal and will see in 20-30 years
if it does the job. The grid lines do make it a bit easier to lay the tile nice 'n straight.
Just make sure you put it down/up level and square.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Install was straightforward followed instructions. Haven’t finished tile so no review on that. My tile guy says it’s the only system he trust and will guarantee!

Easy to use.
This product seems to be of good quality and is relatively easy to use. It looks as if a really good waterproofing barrier will be achieved.

Would not adhere
I bought this product, mixed the correct mortar to the correct mortar/water ratio, and scored my drywall slightly like recommended. Spread mortar and tried putting the membrane up. Took a wall blade and smoothed out the Kerdi, only to have it start peeling off 20 minutes later. Took this down, cut out Sheetrock and installed GoBoard instead.
