Joist hanger is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please stop giving bad advice... These hangers are not intended to be screwed in or shot with a pneumatic nail gun. They are engineered to specific codes to hold weight, only if installed correctly with the correct fasteners. Screws and galvanized nails do not have the same sheering force, so they can't carry the same load. If you do install these, use the proper nails recommended by the manufacturer, and put a nail in every hole, that is what they are intended for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simpson strong tie I'd like to meet the CEO of simpson strong tie so I could kiss him! Their products are fantastic and worth every penny. I wouldn't build a deck without using this product. So much better then toe nailing/toe screwing. Increases the strength of the deck significantly. I'll be putting a hot tub on the deck and I have no concerns since I'm using this product. Very easy to use. If I was the maker, I'd consider slight modifications, but just minor. I've used these with each deck I've built and will do so in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please stop giving bad advice giving bad advice Screws are a no-no. Pneumatic tools are okay, per manufacturer's instructions: " Pneumatic nail tools may be used to install connectors, provided the correct quantity and type of nails (length and diameter) are properly installed in the nail holes. Tools with nail hole-locating mechanisms should be used. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use the appropriate safety equipment. Overdriving nails may reduce allowable loads."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use For a product that is very inexpensive, it sure makes framing a platform or deck a lot easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary for all unsupported floor joists. Suggest using 1" square drive exterior screws for attaching the hanger to vertical support(s) before driving toe-nail screws or nails. I use exterior or galvanized fasteners to eliminate potential rust stains in future years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice hanger I'm not sure what to write about this hanger. It's a joist hanger that had holes for the nails in the right spots and is galvanized so it will stand up to the outdoor environment. I expanded my porch and used them to hold the joists.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from USE NAILS! We used this product to build our deck. We used screws to install them. The building inspector came today and told us WE MUST USE NAILS PER THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS! There ARE NO MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS ANYWHERE!! We now have to remove all the screws and put in nails. This should be specified somewhere!! Even the reviews suggest using screws. VERY FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER!!!
