This seat does not fit with the original toilet seat added. Any advice?

Toilet seat is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Helps due to recent surgury Bought for a parent that had recent surgery. It helped them to keep from getting to low. My opinion, it's not for long term use but definitely good for the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Fittings 'don't fit' By looking at this seat from the box, it looked as though it just fits down into the toilet but it doesn't. You have to use , or should I say, TRY to use the one bracket it comes with and it doesn't come near to fitting the screw holes in my toilet so I had to drive back to the store. It cost around $50.00 with taxes, and by the way, it wasn't in the toilet section. It was in the faucet aisle! Go figure!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Wife returned from the hospital and needed an elevated seat due to back and knee surgery. Product is well designed and well made (in USA!) and was easy to install.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not happy not happy with the fact that the regular toilet seat must be removed to attached this safely to the toilet. If not attached with the bracket and bolts that go where regular toilet is bolted it is a fall risk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A seat above For my wife's necessity to use the toilet.and get into the shower in the same bathroom this addition to our toilet is welcomed . With a shower seat it limits the space to walk through and get into the shower. With this seat she can remove it and get into the shower , and put it back when she is finished. Excellent piece of equipment for a handicap person. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for my use. Just what we needed for my wife who was having trouble getting up and down on the potty because of back and leg problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed My wife was injured and had real difficulty getting up and down at the toilet. I looked at 5 drug stores first and found none that worked for an elongated toilet seat and none that would raise the seat more than 3 inches. This item works on standard and elongated seats and raises the seat 5 inches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Fit easily onto toilet. Secure for elderly. Side 'handles' (wings) help keep body stable. They got in way of toilet paper holder, something you might want to consider before buying. But we are happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm down and can't get up. Gives enough elevation so it is less painful to get up. Easy to install, easy to remove and easy to clean. A little pricey for a piece of molded plastic but it does work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Exactly what we needed for elderly parents. Handles on sides of seat are a huge asset. Easy to install and well worth the money to help keep parent's independence.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ergonomics are excellent While the ergonomics on this Moen HomeCare elevated seat are excellent for our purposes, some might wish to consider the toilet rails that attached to the bowl. If the user has painful or dysfunctional upper arm (-s) or shoulder (-s) the rails would require a lot more flexion maneuvering as well as elbow/tricep, bicep and shoulder pressure/strength compared to using this seat with the "bat-wing" style handles. Since the seat sits up about 4-5", someone with knee or quadricep dysfunction can more readily get off the toilet using far less energy than using a nearby grab bar or attached rails. Yes, this unit is very expensive for a solid molded plastic seat, BUT it's the engineering & design that are unique if you do some research. It will last a long time. We have 2 of them attached to our elevated handicap Toto toilets downstairs. Admittedly, the attached plastic bowl adapter flanges do not snugly fit into the rectangular openings at the back of the seat. I simply added 2 side-by-side 1" felt pads to the underside at the rear and the front to elevate the seat ever-so-slightly and the "flange" adapters fit more securely into the openings so that the seat is more secure and does not pull off nor does it "rock and roll". In time the felt pads will need to be replaced.(These felt pads are the kind you put on the feet of a stool or chair to avoid marking up the floors and permit the stool/chair to slide on a hard-wood floor) Alternatively, one could add a little extra lip on the flange that fits into the rectangular openings at the rear of the seat but so far, we have not needed to modify the flange and just added a fraction of height to the plastic seat as described. Moen, you might want to consider providing such inexpensive pads should the user need the option to secure the seat a bit more. Works for us! Even though my legs are longer than my spouses, I can't comfortably touch my feet on the floor when I sit on the seat esp since our toilet is a few inches higher, being a handicapped toilet), so I simply rest my feet on a small folding plastic stool kept near the toilet. Works for me! Overall, it has been described as "a God-send" by my spouse. Thanks Moen!
