Best 30" Cooktop
This is the third glass cooktop we have owned, and first from GE; had our first one from 1999-2016, but accidently dropped a drinking glass on it and it spiderweb cracked. Second one from 2016 - 2018, again dropped a glass on it and knocked off corner. Due to our fumbling with glassware near the cooktop we decided to go with the metal edge on the front and back...love it and it looks sharp; hopefully will help in resisting cracks from dropped objects. We love the touch control on/off and Temp control. Easiest to operate. We have the 30" model due to space, and even though we cook a lot this model works well. Burner sizes are perfect.

unhappy with design
It's been almost 6 months since I purchased my appliances. I immediately was disappointed with this product. I wish I had bought the model that had knobs instead of touch. Spraying the stove with a cleaner starts to ignore the burners. I find this unsafe and extremely annoying. Also the black on black was a bad choice. I wish I had gone with the white on back. That is what I had previously. I had my other GE cooktop for 17 years and I never saw the scratches like I do on this one. I purchased these products because I was completely satisfied with the ones these replaced. It was also a GE profile . I will not recommend it.

Great Cooktop
New cook top looks beautiful in the kitchen. It has a sleek and smooth design. Touch controls are easy to manage and can be locked for cleaning.
Love the built-in timer right on the cook top.
Heating is good. As with anything new, we have to get used to how the controls, "control" the heating. Right now it seems that the response to turning the heat down is a little slow, but it does eventually get to the right temperature. Once the heat is at the right spot, cooking is perfect. Our old cook top had our most used element at only "high" and "off" and it is nice to have the ability to control the heating again.

Easy to install even for a woman
It's been a month and my family and I like it so far. Sleek and easy to operate. One complaint was the wine color, but I don't experience that and I have a light above it. I do notice on the very edge the wine color, but it's hardly noticeable. It does show every touch, fingerprint, smear, etc, but what stovetop of this type doesn't? I've owned one before and cleaning just takes some extra time. And it's easier if you keep up with it. The scraper included helps and doesn't scratch.
And the big plus...I installed it myself! I'm a 54 yr old woman and I did the wiring myself...3 easy wires - no brainer.

It's ok
I really like my old model much better for multiple reasons. 1st, the pan sensor option I loved. 2nd, I cannot stand the musical buttons. 3rd, if one burner is on, you cannot take a dripping wet lid off your pot and lay it upside down on the stovetop or the burner you lay it on beeps or something. Doesn't make sense to me. I also do not like the Chrome strips on the edges but that's all that available at the time. They are already scratched up. Other than all that I guess it's ok. My old one couldn't be fixed so this was a replacement.

NOT HAPPY! Its wine color not black & not flat
Bought this e ific as part of kitchen remodel. New countertops cut to zise. When we dropped it on and turned overhead light on imwas stunned to see the entire glass has a reddish wine color. Not black! And u can see thru the glass and see glue mrks and some perforated material all around the edges. And it bows up on left side not flat
Not what i purchased at all. The mgr at store called GE and said any profile i get would be same
How dothey advertise black and i get see theu wine color?
Does snyone else see this at all under their lights?

Sleek stovetop
I installed this cooktop a few weeks ago. I love it!! I like how slender it is on counter, no edges to clean around! Burners are supper easy to use! Love the power boil & bridge burner! Definitely get a lock button if you buy a stove with no knobs, makes it easier to clean without buttons beeping at you every time you touch it. Plus, if you have little kids. I love having a timer on the stove, super convenient!! The only thing I had to get used to is not to lay dishes or anything over buttons, it's all sensor. My microwave is above the stove so I always take my plates out & lay them on stove.

Nice Cooktop!
This GE works great and looks great! The temperature controls work easily, even when my fingers are wet/oily/wearing disposable gloves - all good. There's a good temperature range from just warm to fast boil. As the instructions say, be sure to touch the curved gray sensor line and NOT the LEDs - it's natural to swipe the bright red lights, but the sensor line is just inside the lighted area. I also like the alternate + & - controls for more precise adjustments. The glass looks great, very black, and easy to clean - I lock the controls when cleaning so I don't get the warning beeps.
