How do I remove the screens so I can clean the windows? What solution is best to clean the windows?

Asked by: Bali 12
Hi, The screens can be removed similar to how most screens are removed from windows by leaning to one side and adjusting out. For washing you can use warm water and mild soap. Let us know if you need any more info! -Team Gazebo Penguin

Are all the windows screen or glass? Is there a snow load rating?

Asked by: Karen Z
Hello Karen, The unit has both screens and windows . The windows are made of a soft PVC material not glass . Regarding the snow load there is no specific load or max load capacity but we always recommend that you never leave more then 3 inches of heavy wet snow. and no more then 4 inches of light fluffy snow . Thank you Joshua

do yo provide name of contractor to install?. Or better jet do you install it and give no interest no payents for 12 months?

Asked by: FAITH123
Hello, Contractors or installers may be provided by the vendor of the unit but would have to be clarified with them . as well a payment plane or interest arrangement would be the actual vendor you purchased the unit from . If they do not have any installers you can go on (Canada - www.askfortask.com) or (USA- www.thumbstack.com) Thank You

Gazebo Penguin 12-ft x 15-ft Sand Solarium Gazebo is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this gazebo We love this gazebo! My husband and 2 friends put this up in 8 hours and we anchored into a concrete pad. We will add electricity soon for lights and a fan..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Directions are awful but end results are worth it. We put up our gazebo over a weekend. We had to use self driving metal screws at the end because the holes of 4 different items had to line up exactly and that was never going to happen. But knowing the directions were bad going in helped. The end result is lovely and so far water tight through 2 driving rain storms. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hail Damage Bought this product, looks beautiful. After a couple days of hail the roof was totally ruined. Phone the company asking for the price to replace all of my panels on the roof, quoted $2500.00 not including GST and shipping. That is almost half the price of a new one. They need to come up with a better roof system that can handle hail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it but has it faults too. Mine is only starting it's third season and it is wrapped all winter and the roof now needs to be replaced. Can't find where to get it from. The windows also leak in rain storms. The roof though should be made out of stronger material, not to pleased for what I paid for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We love it... now that it is up. I take points off for Penguin's poor "customer support". People aren't kidding when they say the instructions are bad. What bothered me was we were building the roof according to the instructions, and 4 of the 10 roof rafters got bent up because they couldn't take the weight of the central hub roof panel and they collapsed (very dramatic, luckily only a minor hand wound suffered by me, but there was potential for more serious injury, as well as gazebo damage), plus the embedded fasteners popped out. So I called Penguin in Montreal, and the guy tells me to send him a detailed email so that he can give me a QUOTE for the broken parts. I told him they should send them at no charge since we followed the instructions. He said that most people follow the instructions and the parts do not break, and that it was therefore our fault. WOW. Thank goodness my husband worked some crazy magic with some TJ Weld (that stuff is amazing) and managed to fix the rafters. It wasn't pretty, but they could be fastened, and then were out of sight once it was all constructed. So when you build the roof, make yourself a tall, supportive structure right in the middle of the gazebo. Ours was consisting of a ladder, and some wooden boxes with the central hub bungee corded right to it. Then we could build the roof off from it without having to lift it on later and risk breaking the rafters. Also note, there is not one single extra screw. So do not drop or misplace any of them. 2 of our windows do not slide open. They are stuck. I have avoided calling customer service after the last experience. Plus, now that we finally have this thing constructed, I do not want to go to the hassle of deconstructing it so I can replace 2 entire panels. That would almost mean starting from scratch. We also struggled with the final roof edging - very tricky to get it to fit and get it screwed in. It is a terrible fit. It's also not bug proof. There are major 2 inch gaps left all along the roof panels. We have stuffed some styrofoam insulation meant for cords into the gaps, but its not a perfect fit so things still get in if they really want to. We struggled through all of the bad construction and customer support stuff. Now that it is up, it is awesome. Too hot to use on hot sunny days of course, but evenings, rainstorms, and cooler weather days just got a whole lot more awesome. We've had it up for about 3 weeks. Let's hope it can withstand a Winnipeg winter.
