Tiles - Tools and Accessories (0)

Update the look of a kitchen or a bathroom with an installation of wall or floor tiles. Rona has the tools and the materials such as tile adhesives to firmly hold the tiles in place. There is also mortar and grout that resists moisture and mould, making it safe and suitable for use in damp or ground level areas. Select from many handy floor tile tools and tile installation accessories such as a float to smooth out grout compound. Trowels and spreaders help to distribute adhesive evenly over an area. Finish the job with sealant and grout cleaner.
Put down square, octagonal, or rectangular floor tiles to update the look of a bathroom or kitchen. Keep the tiles in place and fill the joints in between with a new layer or a replacement application of floor grout. The grout is available in many colours to match the selected tile. Grout offers many benefits, such as the repelling of water and dirt to make it easy to clean. Look for grout mixes that set quickly and won’t shrink after drying. Also ensure that it fills the joint widths between tiles, which can vary in size.

Both sanded and unsanded grout are cement-based, and some use epoxy to decrease hardening time. Grouts containing sand are thicker than unsanded and are also less likely to shrink. Cement grouts are suitable for residential spaces, while epoxy grouts are recommended for workshops or other areas where harsh chemicals are present. There is also wall grout for mounting wall tiles.

Several other options for installing tiles are tile adhesives that bond on many surfaces, such as plywood, concrete, and gypsum drywall. Attach ceramic tiles and stones with cement glue or light mortar that also works with marble and even natural stone. Make a new tile floor waterproof with a liquid rubber membrane and keep it clean with deep-cleaning ceramic soap.

For installing tiles, Rona carries many floor tile tools. There are spreaders to disperse grout and mortar, creating grooves that increase the surface area and adhesive strength. When drilling holes through tiles, look for drill bits with specialized tips that won’t slip and that penetrate tile to make smooth holes without causing cracks. Ensure correct and consistent alignment and spacing of tiles with handy floor tile accessories, such as levelling clips, wedges, and spacers. Many of these work with virtually all tile types and thicknesses.
