Description
The FlipToggle® anchor's strong mechanism supplies extra holding power in drywall, plaster or hollow concrete blocks. These anchors are very easy to install and fit in hollow walls up to three inches thick. Also, they are twice as strong as regular toggle bolts of the same diameter. A 1/2" diameter hole is required for installation. Finally, this model is 3/16" x 2 1/2" and sold in packs of 25 units, but FlipToggle® anchors are available in a wide variety of sizes and packages to suit your needs.

what is the weight load for these anchors.
They range from approx 30 pounds to 80 pounds, depending on the thickness of the drywall and upon the thickness of the screw/bolt that comes with the anchor. There is a chart on the packaging. I used the thicker screw version to install two floating shelves (ten inch deep shelves, rated for 20 pounds load) using 2 anchors per shelf in a location where there were no studs (newer house with studs 24 inches on centre) and the shelves feel feel strong once installed due to the toggle bar part of the anchor that remains behind the wall. This anchor is basically a combination of a metal toggle bolt plus a plastic socket that fills the hole plus a plastic strap to pull the toggle bar tight.
The advantages of these anchors compared to old style metal toggle bolts are:
Smaller hole (1/2 inch) since the toggle bar is solid metal and it folds in one piece to get it through the hole,
stronger since the toggle bar is one solid piece,
the plastic socket completely fills the hole.
You install the toggle and socket first, by pushing then through/into the hole, then pull the toggle bar tight behind the wall using the strap, then cut the excess strap length with a utility knife, and then you attach what you want using the included anchor bolt.
The u-shaped strap is grooved to guide the anchor bolt into the metal receiving socket in the toggle bar while you screw in the bolt..
TIPS: Install the anchor in the correct orientation so that the u-shaped trough in the strap points upward. Using a large drill bit such as half an inch (as per directions) makes the job go faster.

strong, easier to install than old style toggles
The 3/16 size is very strong, i.e. rated up to 80 pounds, depending upon the thickness of the drywall. I installed 2 decorative floating shelves (10" deep, rated 20 pounds load) using 2 anchors per shelf since no studs were available in that location. These anchors (even in multipack) are not cheap but the peace of mind is worth it. These are better than the old style metal toggle bolts since they include a plastic socket that completely fills the hole, and a u-shaped strap to tighten the toggle bar behind the wall before you insert the screw/bolt. The u-shaped strap guides the metal bolt into the receiving socket in the metal toggle bar, as long as you orient the u-shaped strap upwards as shown in the directions. You cut off the excess length of strap after tightening the strap. Tip: If you use a 1/2 inch drill bit (as per the instructions), then drilling the hole will be easier. I also drilled a smaller pilot hole first in order to ensure exact placement of the holes..

Rock Solid
I bought this package to mount the TV after the anchors that came with the wall mount failed. These things held solid! Great weight rating for one let alone 4 of them. I've also used them for large mirrors and it's not going anywhere.

Awesome
The best anchor I have ever used for drywall.
Used them for towel bars, paper holders, and robe hooks.
If the required holes for the device are too close to each other, just install on an angle.
