Is this oven a steam clean

Asked by: Turnley
I don't think so as the residual would not be ash if it was. There is a steam bake option though.

Dual-Fuel Double-Oven Gas Convection Range - 6.7 cu. ft. is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 287.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful range I replaced an electric smooth top range with this dual fuel double oven range. Overall, I am loving it so far! The range looks good in my kitchen and I have found it very easy to use. I've used the stove top and both ovens at different times; I haven't used both ovens at the same time yet but, I know that feature is going to be useful! The only cons I have noticed at this point is the oven light operates both ovens at the same time, and the steamer rack was discolored/rusted right out of the packaging.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't like what I had to say? I wrote a review about a month ago, it's not published here. Apparently they don't want people to know about all the defects? The enamel paint is chipping off the floor of my top oven. They won't do anything about it, claim it's a "cosmetic". This is INSIDE the oven. It may not affect the function TODAY, but it will someday when the oven floor rusts or something because there's no enamel covering the metal! I used to respect Kitchenaid, but their lack of handling of this issue for me leaves me very disappointed and untrusting to buy anything else from them ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I have long wanted a gas cook top but live in an area where electric is the norm. I had heard the gas oven really puts out a lot of heat so I wanted to stick with the electric oven but I hated the ceramic cooktop on the stove. I learned about duel fuel from a friend and checked it out. We had to get a gas line run to the kitchen but it was totally worth it. I have had to make a few adjustments, eg., when you turn off the flame the heat is gone and my food cools more quickly. I was used to turning the eye off, on the ceramic, and it would stay warm for a while. But overall I am absolutely delighted with my new duel fuel stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't think twice about purchasing this range. Love this dual-fuel range. It is my dream-come-true oven. I have used most of the features and it works extremely well. I haven't cooked with gas in quite some time, so it's taking some getting used to, but believe me, you won't go wrong in purchasing this range. It looks so great in my kitchen. The beautiful blue interior sets it apart from other ranges. I used the convection oven for a roast and it was delicious and beautifully cooked. I just can't wait to retire so I can use this range all the time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice features, hate the safety valve for the gas I see they corrected the manual to say that the burners are not able to be lit manually during a power outage. The manual that was included with mine that I bought last year says clearly that they can be lit manually, however this is not the case. I wish I had known that before splurging on this, I'm now finding that this "safety" feature is common on newer gas stoves. Not looking forward to eating cold food during the next blizzard. I like having two ovens and the gas range. I wish the center burner could go higher, it's quite weak compared to the large burners. Cleaning it is fairly easy. The steel and black with the red details look very nice and sleek.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate but room for improvement I bought this range because I wanted a gas cooktop and two ovens. There's not a lot of options out there, and this one is working out pretty well. I wish the grates on the top of the stove were a little closer together - it's difficult to balance small pots without them wobbling. And the marking of the controls makes it difficult to realize that a burner is still on - I have left one on the lowest setting overnight. And I wish the central burner for the griddle had a higher flame, but once the griddle (which comes with the stove) heats up for a while, the food does brown. It was a bonus to see the pretty blue enamel interior of each oven. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Safety Hazzard Very Dangerous I enjoy everything about this range EXCEPT the fact that if the power blinks while you have a top burner in use the gas valves closes, flame goes out, and then since the power comes right back on the gas valve opens back up and allows gas to fill your house since there is no longer a flame! This is extremely dangerous! Poor design!!!! Kitchenaid should have a fix for this before it causes someone to loose their home and/or life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complaints of cracked enamel I posted a complaint here a month ago about parts of the blue over liner on our six month old range that were flaking off. I contacted KA, and they sent a repairman out to the house, who said that the complaint was valid and the over could not be repaired. After several long phone calls, KA informed us that they will be replacing our appliance and it is scheduled to arrive toorrow. We had the extended warrantee which may have been a decisive factor. But aside from some inconvenience, it appears to us that KA stands behind their products so we're satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Never use the bottom oven Bought this range over a year ago and I never use the bottom oven. The top rack on the bottom oven is the worst. It sticks and spills everything you put on it. Everything else is not so bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply amazing We just completed a total kitchen remodel and this 5 burner gas double oven is simply the best! It is the showpiece in the kitchen with its professional grade handles, velvety smooth burner dials, gorgeous double ovens with convection, I just cant wait for the holidays! Exceptional quality, perfect design and this baby makes you want to stay in the kitchen and cook all day long! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to this wonderful piece of art, not just an appliance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek design, a few quirks though I love the appearance of this range. It exudes a feeling of high quality. It took a little time to figure out the controls. Reading the manual is a must if you plan to use the 'easy convect' options. I have yet to successfully convection-cook anything. Both my attempts failed. Roasted potatoes didn't crisp and muffins failed to cook in the middle. (I stick to the manual convection cooking now, instead of letting it automatically lower the temperature and time.) A few things to note: 1. This range does NOT function without power. There is a safety solenoid that cuts the gas supply with power disabled. 2. You can't quickly switch baking modes (Bake > Roast > Warm). You must select 'Off' first and start from scratch every time. 3. You can change temperatures on the fly by simply keying the new temperature in at any time. 4. You can't broil or roast or bake with the door open. (On my old oven, broil was always 500°F, and the element would be on even when the door was open. This was my preferred method for broiling.) This oven allows you to set a broil/roast temperature and then the door MUST be closed for the element to cycle on. 6. The oven feels like it is slow to preheat. I think it takes nearly 20 minutes to preheat the smaller oven. I did notice that the left grate was warped. The center site about 1/8" higher than the front and back edges, so pan's don't sit level. KitchenAid sent a free replacement grate, but the replacement exhibits the same flaw. I'm hoping they can track down a good grate for me. If they can, I'll make this a 5-star review again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall great with some quirky features to get used to! When we purchased this model, there was not one in the store to check out. A friend had bought one and was so excited about it that when we moved we decided to buy all Kitchenaid appliances. I am happy so far! The timer and oven controls are taking a little time to get used to (We have had it for approximately 2 months)! The only downside I have really noted so far is having to basically disassemble the stovetop to clean it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Who would want a gas stove that won't work in a power outage I had a dual power range and now renovating my kitchen - I ordered this stove and when the gas man came to install it - He broke the news to me that this gas cooktop will not work in a power outage...... Who would want a gas range that doesn't work in a power outage..... KitchenAid does bother to let you know up front.... In fact the sales man did not even know it.... no, you cannot light it manually.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like everything about it so far but need clarity So far all is well. The only concern is the wall clearance needs to be 3 inches according to the installation instructions but none of the pictures reflect this. Has anyone else used the 3" rule for wall clearance. It looks awkward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far So good! We got this oven a few months ago, It has been excellent. So far no problems. Works as expected. My only issue, The Upper oven seems to be a bit tight. Burned my hand twice before I learned my lession! I would suggest a differ rack in the top with some kind of grip handles on the sides to make it a bit easer to slide the rack out to get your food. Besides that...Happy wife...happy life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features at this price This appliance checked almost all our boxes - two ovens and dual fuel. For the most part it has worked well in the two months we have had it. A few minor concerns: the low temperature limit is 170 F. This is too high and the temp limit was impossible to find prior to purchase, despite our efforts to do so. 170 still cooks food and is way too high to proof bread. 100 would be much more useful. The largest round burner is difficult to light. The surface burners do not work when the power is off, so one cannot cook during power outages. The larger burners seem to leak gas a little. This was worse when the appliance was first installed. The gas company could not detect any leaks, but we still get a gas smell from time to time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burner knobs not real stainless The exterior of the knobs are peeling! After a few years of heat from ovens coming up and over knobs, they look wrinkled and peel off! Rip-off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from KitchenAid Dual Fuel Double Oven Range Review I have been using this range for about 3 weeks now and really like it. It is a top quality gas stove with the luxury of double electric ovens. I replaced a Maytag Gemini Dual Oven with this range. I loved the Maytag and only replaced it because of wanting a gas stove. Things the Maytag had that the KitchenAid does not (and wish it did): *separate oven light switches (both oven lights turn on with the one switch??) *a toasting option for the upper oven (n/a) *2 timers (only has one??) Other than these minor issues I love the range. It is spendy but you get what you pay for!
Date published: 2015-12-09
Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed This is a beautiful appliance, but after using the upper oven only a half dozen times the enamel on the inside floor of that oven broke and cracked off in chards that were sharp as glass. Kitchenaid replaced the oven. However the new oven has been used only 2 times and has done the same thing. I am currently in the process of reporting the problem again. It appears that a bubble of air, moisture, grease must have been present when the enamel was baked on and allowed just enough space that the normal heat causes the coating of enamel to crack. I will praise Kitchenaid for standing up for me as a loyal consumer and offering, without too much argument, to replace the product. I hope we can work out a trade again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought the oven a few months ago and really love it. I have always had a gas oven and had issues with the temperature being accurate, gas ovens are known for that, but didn't want to give up my gas cooktop. With the combination of both gas and electric, it's a win/win. I also like the double oven feature as I always hated heating up the whole oven for something small. I host Thanksgiving so I am very excited about being able to use the two ovens for all the food that I will be preparing. It's hard in one oven to keep some foods warm and cook others at the same time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality I have the 2011 model and it has never worked properly despite servicing. The convention oven has been serviced 4 times and is still so loud it's difficult to have a conversation in the kitchen. The doors do not unlock after the self clean cycle and two of the burners don't light properly (also serviced 4 times). Kitchen Aid has been completely unhelpful. I would not recommend this range or any other Kitchen Aid products. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficiently Engineered ”We purchased this oven 3 weeks ago. We previously enjoyed 15 years using a “Jennaire” Dual Fuel Double Oven with a timed ‘Toasting’ feature. With this oven, We discovered we can toast between 6-8 slices of toast - by setting the items to be ‘toasted’ on the top rack using the small oven, then, heating the oven to 300°. When the oven has reached 300’ both sides of the toast are crisp & warm ~ ready to serve. Walaa ! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not sure yet we finally ran a gas line for gas stove. We had this exact stove in electric and love the double oven. However i was expecting more heat from burners. Takes at least 5 minutes to boil water. My electric stove boiled faster. Don't know if this is a stove issue or gas pressure issue. Other thing i don't like is that you can only broil in top oven and food doesn't broil evenly as the burner is just down the middle of stove and any food on outside of the tray doesn't brown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch Appliance Before you could buy a dual fuel stove, I had put in a gas cook top and an electric oven. My oven needed to be replaced and when I saw this stove, I thought that it was the perfect answer because I really wanted to go back to a stand alone stove. I have had this stove for a week now and I love it. The two ovens are such a convenience and they bake so evenly. I still haven't tried to bake bread in it, but can't wait to try it since this stove comes with the steam option for creating a wonderful crust. I just knew I couldn't go wrong buying a Kitchenaid appliance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love this stove When we built our house 11 years ago I really wanted a dual fuel stove but it was just cost prohibitive at that time. We recently replaced all of our appliances and I got my wish! The top oven will preheat to 350 in 7 minutes and yes, I did time it. It is the perfect size for a tray of biscuits, cookies, pie crust without heating the entire kitchen. The convection oven is incredibly easy to use and is almost intuitive in the setting of it. The range top took some getting used to because the burners on this one are opposite of the burners on my old stove. I love that the center burner is for a griddle. Just had the grandkids for a long weekend and pancakes were so easy. I would highly recommend this stove to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for baking bread! When my old KitchenAid stove died after 20 years, I gave a lot of thought to what I would replace it with. I'm glad I chose another KitchenAid. The stove itself combines the best of both worlds - gas stove top and electric oven. Add the two oven feature to that and you can't beat it. I bake a lot of bread and the steam bake feature is probably my favorite. The only complaint I have is that, being only 5'2", its a bit of a stretch to reach the back burners, especially when I have the front burners in use. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this range! We've owned its predecessor for 12 years. This one has been upgraded in a few important areas (eg knobs up front instead of on side). Purely aesthetic, but love the blue oven interior!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Love it. Cooks everything so evenly. I love the griddle great for pancakes and eggs. The convection is great. I never used that before and the stove does all the calculations for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful appliance with many features! We've had this oven for 2 years and absolutely love it. I do a lot of cooking and baking, so was looking for very specific features to fit a standard oven size--double oven, gas stove, and electric baking to maximize temperature control. I would suggest this oven model very highly if you want these features. This oven has performed reliably well and is great value. My few complaints/observations: 1) it scratches easily, including the icons for the burners wore off immediately, 2) sometimes the burners have a hard time catching (lots of clicking), 3) the gliding oven rack for the bottom oven was a serious pain and eventually I stopped using it and 4) the timer can be annoying. Despite this, the usability is top notch and I would buy it again. If you don't care about the features I mentioned, you may want to look for a model that doesn't scratch so easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Range I purchased this stove about 2 months ago, great features. I primarily purchased it because of the dual ovens and the five burners. My only complaint is that the timer function only beeps once when it is finished and the beep is not very loud. I looked at the owner guide and it seems the only options for the timer is off or on. Other wise a great range [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
