size of batteries ? 3,4,5 amp

Asked by: voodoo11
I returned mine coz it’s cheaper to buy somewhere. If I remember correctly, the battery is 1.5 or 2a battery. Not 3,4,5.

Drill/Driver and Impact Driver Combo Kit - Cordless - 20 V is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 260.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Product While rather expensive compared to other similar drills of other brands. The 20V battery provides lots of power. The belt clip is designed for convenience. These drills are truly durable I have dropped both of these drills from about 6' and they both powered through it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20 volt drill combo Awesome. Powerful. Long lasting. Comes with a case, 2 chargers, and belt clips. Led lights come on when trigger is squeezed. One frill has the usual chock. The other drill has the quick release. Used for months on many projects and no complaints so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fell in love i love this combo set. i will say that i do alot of do it your self work and my old drill that i had (hitachi) with a nicad battery was just not holding up to what i needed. especally when trying to put in lag bolts. after seeing this when a dewalt vendor came to my local store for a hands on exsperence. this drill and impact have some serious power behind that trigger. im really impressed with how lightweight they kept it with adding more power, the lithium battery is one nice feature to so light but very powerful also nice job dewalt. must buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cordless system you can get! I’ve had these tools for awhile now so this isn’t an initial thoughts type of review. Overall these are amazing. The power available behind them was a huge upgrade from my previous set. I only have the small batteries, but it feels like they last forever. I don’t even have to put them up charge after each use. I have dropped these, banged them around, stepped on them, and nothing more than maybe a few scratches. The durability test ... passed with flying colors. If anyone asks for a recommendation I will easily say, buy these dewalt tools. You will not be disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow ! Power is amazing I owned the old 18v NiCad dewalt drill and driver and the batteries finally bit the bullet. So it was time to upgrade..... I first purchased the Hitachi combo set because it was on sale and after using it for 2 weeks I was not impressed with the power. I ready reviews about this dewalt set on lowes.com and from the orange store and thought they were paying people to write such rave reviews. I like the fact its assembled in the USA but dislike the fact Dewalt is owned by black and decker. I gave this set a chance and the power is un real. For the price it really cant be beat. only negative is the light on the drill casts a shadow. love everything else about it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dewalt 2 tool 20v impact and drill set These are two great drills. I have had two other 18v lithium sets and neither one compares to these. Hitachi nor porter cable can touch these two. They are lighter, more powerful, and hold a charge better than the rest. These are DEFINATELY a must have for anyone who uses cordless drills regularly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery life not so desired I've always loved dewalt tools. My last cordless was an 18v, used it about 11 years. Decided it was time to upgrade. I'm a contractor, use the cordless pretty much everyday. Had this combo pack about 2 or 3 weeks now. The batteries are constantly on the charger. Whether it's drywall screws, drilling holes, mixing up paint, etc. Seems like I'm only getting an average of 2 hours out of the battery. My old dewalt would last for days without charge, and I'm pretty tough on tools, that was on a 10 year old battery. The life on these batteries don't compare. Everything else with the drill is exceptional. Lightweight, charges quick, built tough. Battery life, not so much desirable. I've had my share of cheap power tools, and have better experience with their batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love DeWalt Tools Gave 4 stars only because I have the brushless XR kit. Only reason is because I use the tools all day Working with metal studs. The one kit I have is 50 bucks more. But unless you use them like I do, this kit is more than enough. I keep this kit at home and I always find something to work on just to use the tools. The impact driver is my favorite. Took me over a year but I finally got all the DeWalt cordless 20 volt tools and it is the best way to go. I can leave a battery on a tool, not use it for a couple of months, and when I pick it up again the battery has the power it had when I last used it. I highly recommend all DeWalt cordless 20 volt tools!! I even got the Bluetooth radio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tool Great to have around the house. Impact driver is plenty powerful for 5/16" Lag bolts. Haven't tried any bigger. Charges quickly and holds a charge well. Drill is nice and smooth. I bought to replace another name brand that the impact driver burnt out after just a month of around the house use. No regrets. I just wish our local store had more of the 20 volt Max tools. Only the drill and impact available locally. Everything else (i.e. Sawzall, Skill saw, flashlight etc) must be ordered in or online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I have had Hitachi drills for years now and when my batteries would not keep a charge anymore, I knew it was time to either purchase new batteries or just get an all new combo set. Needless to say I purchased this 20volt 1.5 A/H combo set. I debated for a while over purchasing the hammer drill set or the standard drill set. The hammer drill set has two 3.0 A/H (amp hours) batteries and the standard drill has two 1.5 A/H (amp hours) batteries. They are the same voltage (both 20-v) it's just that the 3.0 battery will run longer than the 1.5. The difference between them is that the hammer drill would mainly be used if you are drilling in concrete, ceramic tile, granite tile or items with a hard drilling surface. That is where you would need the extra battery life to keep your drill running. There is also a slight weight difference between the two, because of the larger batteries for the 3.0 A/H. If you need a battery to last you for a long time without having to recharge it, then go with the 3.0. If you are doing odds and ends jobs or just building small projects then go with the 1.5. If you’re still undecided remember this, you do have 2 batteries and they take no time at all to charge up. I hope this helped you out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The real deal If you are looking for a deal on a good combo set, look no further. These two have more power than you will ever need in a drill. Light weight, easy to use, and the LED lights at the end of the drills are very helpful. My dad bought me a Craftsman set a few years ago and the comparison isn't even close. Craftsman should burry their heads in the sand! These things are BAD TO THE BONE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This made me a hero for Christmas Thanks to Lowe's for their pricing, and DeWalt for their quality, I was a hero in my husband's eyes. I spent weeks tracking sales for this item online and really regretted not taking advantage of Cyber Monday discount sales on it. Imagine when I walked into Lowe's and saw their everyday price was identical to these "deep discounts!" My husband swears by DeWalt products, so he was excited to discover the built-in beam, learn that it was 20-volts instead of 18, and feel how light the pieces are despite being so solidly constructed. The icing on the cake was his discovery that a carrying case came with the set. After seeing how happy he was to get this set, I'm a big fan, too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great if you like wasting time swapping batteries I tested this for 10 days doing minor drywall screwing and some paddle bit holes for electrical wiring. The 1.5Ah battery on a full charge lasted 14 1in holes before needing a full recharge. The DCD780 couldn't even do one without the overload protection stopping it or the chuck slipping. I like the lightness but for a carpenter that doesn't want to waste time, this is not a good combo. I decided to uprgade to brushless with the DCK286L2 combo with 2Ah batts and a better compact hammer drill. If runtime is still poor I will get 3 or 4Ah batteries to go with. Very disappointed by the 280C2 and fearful for the junk the 240C2 (with smaller batteries) must be. My old 18V xrp combo lasted 4+ years and had better runtime. Cheap isn't always better. If you depend on your tools to make a living go with a decent brushless and larger batteries for the $100 more and never have to worry about it for 4 years. This combo should be discontinued or recalled so you don't have unhappy customers. Still sticking with dewalt just that this combo is too low end and cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo...a little pricey for homeowners I purchased this combo drill/driver about two weeks ago as a replacement for a 12+ year old cordless Milwaukee that had served me well but had seen much better days. I contemplated purchasing the 18 volt combo kit, it was $50 less than the 20 Volt and would have enough power to meet my needs but the 20 volt combo kit came with a 3rd battery ($90 value) and let's face it, I'm a guy so more power always trumps less power. I have used both the driver and drill repeatedly over the past 2 weeks in the course of remodeling a powder room and have been very impressed with the power, ease of use and overall "feel" of these tools. Even when using in tight places like under a cabinet or above my head, changing lighting fixtures, these tools are well balanced and very light...oh, and they are very powerful....so practice a little, particularly with the impact driver else buy some extra spackle just in case. The one and only drawback of this combo kit is the price. If you are a professional or very active home handyman you may be able to justify with the amount of work you are doing but for your average Joe it would probably suffice to buy one or the other and a good set of universal bits. If you do cough up the extra cash, like I did....you won't be disappointed...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo kit I foolishly attempted to use my smaller, lower torque cordless on a treehouse project. It burned up on the first borehole. Replaced it with this DeWalt kit and was blown away by the difference. The drill easily handled the workload and doubled as a driver for a second person on the project. The impact driver, while noisy, is incredibly effective. Couldn’t have done the project so efficiently without this set. By the way, there’s a nearly identical combo out there, but it has the next step down in drill. If in doubt, go with this kit for a reasonably priced toolset that can handle a lot of DIY action. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase ever The drill is simple & easy to use. The new battery makes it much easier to use and last much longer then the older portable drill with the much heavier battery. The 20V Batt. has a whole lot more torque and works great in both steel and wood. Your Sales Rep. Galen, sold me the product based on it's Special Price, the kit form & I was able to walk out of the store with it and no road test was required. Galen compared this product alone side other likewise products. The purchase price was not the determining factor. Brand name was a major factor in relationship to possible up-grading and accessories. My sincere thanks to Lowes & Mr. Galen Phifer and DeWalt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUILT IN USA BABY! I looked threw lot of brands like Bosch Skill Hitachi ect.. but when i saw the MADE IN USA logo it narrowed me down to pick DeWalt in a heart beat! price is great $199.99 on sale @ Lowes. I read reviews where people say there is this smell coming from the impact drill when in use, thats the factory lubricants burning off its normal it needs to break in and smell will eventually go away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very happy with my new guns. OK so I am a service and repair specialist as well as a network engineer. I have an impact gun on my hip every day all day 6 days a week. My new dewalt put my most recent porter cable 20v set to shame. Battery life is apx 3 days. Design is streamlined and light weight. I have always run dewalt but thought I'd try a cheaper porter cable, big mistake 6 mo after purchase and the clutch smoked and I mean literally smoked. Over all I'd say it the 18v that I have run for the last 11 years but with much more pwr, better battery life and lighter weight. All in all dewalt speaks for itself if ur in the business you know. Sincerely j nimon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Impact Driver and Compact Drill This drill and driver set is perfect for my job as a security camera installer. I use the drill to punch 3/4 and larger holes through 2x4 top plates in houses to run cable through. It's got more than enough power and easily does the job. The impact driver makes quick work of wood screws, sheet metal screws and self tapping screws. It will driver a torx head wood screw completely through a 2x4 head and all. I like the bag and the charger that came with it, and I'm very impressed with the quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery gone after 3 month I bought this combo kit because many good reviews convinced me DeWalt is good quality product. Unfortunately, it was not for me one of battery did not last even 3 month, precisely right after 3 month(90 days money back) one battery has gone. It does not recharge anymore. I am not an even heavy user, I used sometime, did not use it often at all. Additionally, their service center is also poor. I visited a nearby service center marked in DeWalt's website couple of weeks ago but the store looked closed. I called and finally reached them today but they said they are closing no more DeWalt service is provided. Wouldn't it be good to update their service center information sooner. More than that. I tried to reach a DeWalt Factory Server in Anaheim, CA over phone with no success because it looks they never receives a phone call. I wait for a quite long time over phone, their automatic voice system finally forwarded me to a voice mail box then it says You cannot leave a message because the mail box is full. OMG, Is this really the DeWalt that I would believe? Totally bad experience. Now I could visit a Factory center with 16 miles drives, but it is hard for me to think it is worth to do. Totally disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Drills This is my first set of DeWalt drills so I can't judge based on their other products. But this set has helped a lot so far with my basement remodel. The impact drill has that power that I've been missing with my old drills when setting a screw into a stud. The weight is unbelievable. Since these use lithium batteries, they are light to hold and easy to handle. The impact drill is so light that I sometimes forgot that I even have it attached to my tool belt. It was nice that this set for the price came with two batteries, a charger and the bag. Most other sets in this price range don't come with that many accessories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal, very good tools I agree with the positive comments above. I struggled a bit with the decision to buy new drills. My Ryobi impact driver and my Kobalt drill were both OK, but both of them had some issues and I thought I'd like to upgrade and reduce the number of charger types I have at the same time. Wow, very happy I did. These DeWalt drills are great. Quality and function wise I usually think of DeWalt as a good but not first tier brand but I wonder if anybody makes drills any better than these regardless of the price. A tiny complaint: You can't leave a screw bit in the chuck of the impact driver when you store it in the box. Kind of annoying since I imagine that most people have a screw bit in the impact driver most of the time and this makes it so that you have to remove it if you use the box for storage. As I write this I'm wondering if I can just cut the box in a way so that I can put the drill away with the screw bit in place. I'm also thinking this comment might be on the lame side given how tiny the issue is. As an aside, I probably would have bought the drill at Lowe's anyway because that is the hardware store I shop at the most but in looking around the web their $199 price looks like its very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dewalt drill/impact amazing Hi I'm a thirteen year old that loves building so after saving my money I bought this for odd jobs around the house so I didn't have to use my dad's old 18 volt stuff. When I got it right out of the bag both batteries were fully charged me and my dad both used them to build a barn worked perfectly. I have used them numerous times in the three weeks that had them. Great product - thanks Dewalt!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from dewalt combo is a hit I bought this combo to replace two dead corded drills I was using to build a fence. Little did I know how uh-mazing an impact drill is at driving 3 inch ext screws into 4x4 posts. Like butter. I totally see the need for an impact drill now. This is a great set at a great value. 20 v LiON batteries are powerful and have a long lasting charge. The charger is fast and lightweight. The bag is big enough for both drills, the charger and two sets of bits I use. The LED lights on the impact drill are very useful. I know the burning smoke smell will go away hopefully but I'm chalking that up to being brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Buy Value Combo Drill & Driver Advanced DYI user doing major rehab work on rental properties chose this combo after extensive research. Was looking to add a quality cordless driver and opted for this excellent combo set. At $200 the DCK280C2 kit is the best value on the market for a quality brand with excellent reputation for battery life. Definitely wanted the two batteries to keep one fully charged and needed a drill with two speeds which can be used for either slow speed driving or high speed drilling. Very impressed with the small compact size and weight of these units yet they produce a lot of torque for any medium/heavy duty job that is appropriate for cordless. If these were for full time professional work I probably would have opted for an extra $60 for the brushless models but for my weekly use these are more than adequate. Glad this manufacturer has gone to using a contractor bag which is much more useable than the cheap plastic hard shells of the past. Now I can keep all my accessory bits, drivers, hole saws and charger with the drill and driver instead of in a separate tool box. Even added a set of metric and standard sockets with a 3/8 adapter for the driver. Contrary to a previous reviewer who has seems to have gender identity issues and calls it a "purse", the more expensive contractor bag is much more useable than the old hard shells. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Smart Purchase I purchased the 20 volt impact driver and drill to replace my DeWalt 18 volt compact combo and have been very impressed by the overall quality of the product. The drill and impact driver both have a great deal of power, are lightweight, and recharge in only 30 minutes. I really like the slimmer, pistol grip handles which allow you to always maintain a solid hold on the tools regardlessn of the work situation. The only negative I can think of is that the drill chuck seems to loosen at times, allowing for bits to drop out after extended use. Overall, I have no regrets at all about buying this combo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dewalt gets better and better I have used this combo on my work truck for about a year now. This is far the best drill and impact i have ever owned , Its so light weight compared to the 18 volt models. The batteries last a very, very ,very long time between charges. I loved this set so much . I recently purchase another set for my home. Lowes and Dewalt were running a special turn in your old drill and get 50.00 off on a new drill or set. I paid 179.99 + tax for this set after discount . I have seen it for 199.99 during Black friday. I got a deal on it. The empact has so much torque. Its just unbeleivable. I love the 20 volt system drill and impact more than the 18 volt system. The long life batteries and light weight . Makes this set the best ever. you cant go wrong on getting one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Made in USA but only average overseas quality. Long read but worth it. They seem nice at first glance. Made in USA is obviously very attractive, also a marketing campaign. Have not owned long enough to break/damage them but I speculate that they won't last long. I have no concern where a tool is made. You can tell when a tool is well made after you've spent enough time around them. The drill/driver feels cheap. Plastic is different, feels low grade compared to the old DeWalt. Companies are always looking to increase their profit margins and lower costs while still making a new, more attractive product for consumers. I feel these "Made in USA" DeWalt tools are a perfect example. I own lots of Dewalt, I feel I am a good judge. (DeWalt Emglo Compressor (also disapointed to find out my "Emglo" compressor has Emglo on the box but nowhere on the unit. Emglo is made in USA, this "Emglo" is from China and wasn't a budget compressor, review to follow), miter saw/miter saw stand, 18v full tool kit, 18v compact drill/driver, 18v cut-off tool, 18v rotary laser kit, 18v radio, 12/20v radio, 20v concrete vibrator, and now, 20v drill/driver). The casings do not line up properly, a big disappointment for me as it is a direct refection of the overall tool quality. The new battery connection terminal style is very loose, has way too much play. Cheaper to manufacture but also a poor replacement for the 18v battery port. I have no doubt it will have issues in the future. These USA drills/drivers feel like low-mid grade overseas units. My guess would be they are mostly assembled in USA with overseas components, not really made in the USA. Made in the USA means manufactured in the USA. I feel the "global materials" label is misleading and very vague. How much of the drill is actually truly made in the USA. I have seen pictures of one of their US plants and it looks like an assembly line, not a manufacturing line. Reminds me of the Dewalt 12v max lithium ion impact I bought and paid a fortune for. One battery of 2 died within a year (shouldn't with Li-ion) and the driver sometimes decides that it is not going to output full power from time to time, almost like it has its own mind. Unreliable and also cheap, made in China. My favourite driver is my DeWalt DCF826. It was manufactured in 2010,yes, in Mexico. I am writing this review in November of 2018 and this driver is still running like a top, it does not quit. The plastic on this driver is different, it feels heavy duty, like a real tool. The driver looks horrible as it has been really used and abused over the last decade. I have even used the driver as a hammer(rear casing) on lots of occasions. I know, why would I do this. Laziness and it was in my hand at the time I needed to hit something. Regardless, I have really beaten it and also used it as it was meant to be as a driver under heavy use with honest countless hours. It can't be killed. The casings still line up absolutely perfectly, I just looked before I wrote this. Its beaten, but still solid and straight. Unfortunately the 18v is being slowly phased out and the dcf826 is no longer available. The dcf825 looks the same other than obvious new cheap plastic and, made in USA.... I would love to buy solid tools from North America. These new drivers aren't it. I got them on sale and with a bonus free battery so they were worth it if they only last a few years but I have no doubt I will be falling back on my trusty Mexican DCF826 at some point again. I'm looking to stockpile 18v batteries after seeing/owning the new stuff, the quality just isn't there anymore. Disappointing as I would love to support North American manufacturing and get better quality. Don't buy into the generalization of quality US tools, these tools turn it into a stereotype. I give 3 stars because the units are still working but are brand new. I would love to return them and go through the boxes until I find a set where the casings line up properly, no doubt there are assembly variables happening where one set will look well made and another made it through the line but maybe shouldn't have. If you buy, open the box in store and check for manufacturing deficiencies. Tolerances should be better than the set I have. Cheap feel/crummy plastic, poor manufacturing/quality control, and treating me like a dummy for selling me on Made in USA. Will provide a future update after some use. I expect my rating to go lower, not get better. Hopefully the units prove me wrong as they weren't cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome - just what I expected! Upgrading my drill from Craftsman due to the continued lack of battery longevity and also buying my first impact driver. I have used DeWalt before that were other people's and really liked the fit and quality and power - and now with a lithium battery I hope to be a solid DeWalt tool buyer in the future! This fits very well in your hand and is very powerful, batteries charged in no time on first out of box charge. This set is great with 2 batteries and a fantastic bag! I shopped around and ended up with this under the tree. I wish the price was under $200 but still happy with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cordless Tools I've had a few different brands of cordless drill before from 9.6v on up, but never Li-Ion. I had heard good things from a friend about the 20v MAX series and decided to drop the extra money to pick these up. I was not disappointed! These things run for ever and when they finally go dead they charge in a hurry. Great amount of torque out of a 1/4 impact. The only complaint I have is that the bit holder was on the drill and the impact did not have one. I switched it over, but I think they both should have had one. I've been so impressed with these that I also purchased the bare 20v MAX circular saw bare tool. Unfortunately Lowe's does not carry it so I had to get it somewhere else, but that thing tool is really handy and works well also. I have a feeling I'll be using these for a LONG time.
