It works fine.
It's for Poly tubing, and it fits fine on the water line on my fridge. Nice and snug, too. Too bad the competition didn't have a part that would work.

Gone through 3 of these on copper tubing
Gone through 3 of these on 1/4 o.d.copper ice maker tubing line. They leak through of inside of nut. I recommended of getting two pieces set (( compression nut and sleeve )) instead of built in like this one to use on copper tubing.

Worthless and frustrating
I couldn't get the compression ring and nut to fully go on the 1/4" copper line. It wouldn't seat any further down than flush with the end of the copper line and I put a ton of pressure trying to get it to go on further. Of course, as you would expect with the thing not going on properly, it leaked and the ring/nut kept sliding off the end of the copper line after tightening. Tried a 2nd one, same thing (FYI, I kept cutting off bits of the copper line before each attempt to ensure that the line hadn't been compressed which might cause leaking). Finally on the 3rd one, I was able to get the ring/nut to slide down the copper line further. Guess what? Still leaked!!!! Why do I keep paying for this junk? Read another review that said to get the compression ring and compression nut separate as they are a different style, guess I'll try that. Here's to hoping I can get water and ice from my fridge soon!

Don't make'm like they used to.
Needed this part, no other option available except to use the threaded nut with the molded compression point. In the past there was a serviceable plastic washer/seal which you could replace if needed. Now this one-piece is a single use design, if you need to cut your line then this will be impossible to take off without damaging the seal. (they cost $1.25) so buy at least two.

It works for my refrigerator!
This is just a fitting for my fridge's icemaker. It seems to work pretty good and I have no complaints. I am not sure if this is the top model or not. I didn't buy it in the store, we had to buy it by phone because we didn't have it with us when the fridge was delivered.

Leaks
Used on 1/4 poly tubing, with the stiffener/insert... No matter how tight or loose it is tightened onto the poly, it slow leaks. Replaced with a brasscraft version (which many Lowe`s also carry) and did not have a problem.
