Compound Sliding Mitre Saw - 45° - 9A - 7 1/4" is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 285.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product First of all, the manual stresses SAFETY measures throughout. I like that because I've never used this tool before. I found this saw easy to set-up. The vacuum bag does not totally capture ALL the dust and sawdust but 'most' of it. I use a brush to clean the fine stuff left behind on the working parts. The blade that comes with it (12-Tooth), produces a fairly smooth cut for general use, but for smooth finish cuts I had to change to a Dewalt 7-1/4-in 60 Tooth Blade, Item: 252910. I would definitely recommend the Kobalt 7-1/4-in 9 Amp Laser Combination Miter Saw to beginners as well as professional craftsmen! A very good value for the price!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some minor design issues, but good value Bad: - Less that half the sawdust makes it into the sawdust bag. - When the blade is tipped forward to check the location of the cut, the sawdust back is vertical and the sawdust inside falls out. - The laser guide is not very accurate (and moves as the blade raised/lowered). Meh: - It would be nice if it came with two clamps, one for each side. - The blade barely reaches the back bottom, so sometimes my cuts were left with a small piece still attached (maybe this can be fixed with some adjustment). Good: - Compact/light. - Horizontal slide allows to cut wider boards with smaller blade. - Easy to cutoff angle. - Has laser guide (though see BAD list for how useful it is)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7 1/4" 9-amp Bevel Sliding Laser Compound Miter Sa If you are tired of lugging around your big boy miter saw for those small jobs that you are avoiding because you have to take out the 12" then this is the saw for you. After a few minutes of adjustment you will have no problem with the usual trim. Cuts 2 5/8 high and 8" wide material on the square; less on the compound as do all the miter saws. For those who use miter saws on a regular or semi-regular basis you will really like this saw. I took advise from others and installed a 60 tooth Diablo blade since these are my blades of choice. No problems doing door trim and again, what a relief it is to just grab this little puppy and get it done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Saw I borrowed a bigger compound miter saw to cut new baseboard. Couldn't see both my fingers and the angle I was cutting all at the same time. I became concerned about having all my fingers when I finished. Had seen this saw at Lowes and decided to buy it. Light weight and easy to use. Love the sliding feature. Very easy to see both your fingers and the angle you're cutting. The red laser beam is a real plus to making a correct cut. Just wish it had a compound bevel angle. That is a great feature on any compound miter saw. All in all it is a great little saw. But like most others, the dust bag is nearly useless. Doesn't collect much. Just clean up the area when finished. I'd buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best value for money I researched a lot before picking up this miter saw. My options were limited to my budget which was $200. I could have buy a 12 inch DeWalt behemoth which was on sale or a plethora of other sliding from Sears and the Homedepot and Amazon. Sears sliding miter saws are more expensive and comes with one year warranty. Reviews are all over the place but above avarage at Sears. In comparison, Kobalt saw has pretty decent reviews. Out of the box, all the angles are perfect. Laser lines up properly. I swapped the blade with 60 teeth Diablo and cuts are now perfect. Enough power for what ever I have thrown at it. Only tragic piece of of this piece of engineering is the dust collection bag. Kobalt engineers should have actually removed that dust collection mechanism to save a few dollars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than I expected for the money. I was admittedly hesitant to purchase a miter saw that wasn't one of the "big boys". Looking to replace a tried and true old Dewalt after a theft I found myself looking for a smaller unit that would fit my budget and not kick my breakers. Settled on this Kobalt for it's size and amp rating but still able to get a wide cut. After set up I tested all the cuts with my Starrett square and protractor and was amazed to find that out of the box the 90 degrees cuts were near exactly on, within .001, and the 30 and 45 degree cuts were less than 1/3 degree off...again, I was stunned it was that close for a budget saw. I was truly expecting a few hours of tweaking. It has the usual budget plastic knobs and hold downs and the laser takes a bit of getting used to, the dust bag is useless. The fence and supports are small but for the average home DIY projects this is enough saw. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Best Friend I started out doing a small bathroom improvement project. After deciding I wanted to put up some casing and crown molding throughout the house I decided to purchase this rather than a miter box. I was a little nervous at first as this would be my first time using one. I found it to be rather easy to use. My only issue is the dust bag is too little and I still have a small mess after cutting. Also the hold down clamp is a little big and bulky which makes it useless when cutting short pieces. Other than that I'm really loving it. I'm finding all kinds of uses for it now. My friends are calling me Bob the Builder ~ lol

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super value I bought this saw several years ago when I hurt my back. My DeWalt was heavy to haul around and I needed something I could easily carry up the stairs to the backyard or detached garage (no indoor shop). My back injury is long gone, but to my surprise this little saw is what I use most often. I figured the blade it came with would leave too rough a cut so I bought a 60 tooth Freud the same time I bought the saw, and ended up switching it after just a couple of cuts. It's as accurate as my DeWalt and with the blade change takes care of most my chop saw needs. Highly recommend.
