Chainsaw - Gas - 440e Series - 18'' is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 103.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from buy something else bought in December 2017, first use March 18 worked great. second time using keeps dying/very hard to get running/keep running, since then it's always been something. I take care of it and clean it etc but it just keeps going downhill. today it would hardly start then kept dying/not hitting full throttle, well the brake was all jammed up and I had to take it all apart and reseat everything. then go to start it and the starter cord won't retract. and that's pretty much where I'm at now. done with this p.o.s. I've used it maybe 5 times since I bought it and this is just garbage. I spend more time working on the saw than actually cutting wood. would rate 0 stars if it let me. huge disappointment. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless There was a time when Husqvarna made some of the best saws on the market. I had a larger one bought from a local specialty store -- it was delivered tuned and ready to go, and in six years never let me down. But his little saw is absolutely worthless. It never ran well, has always been difficult to start, and is a true gutless wonder. I don't dislike Lowes but I should have known better than to buy a saw from a big box store. Furthermore, no reputable small engine shop is willing to work on it. Now, after two years of ownership, several attempts to fix the problems (total bill: nearly the purchase price), and many unhappy hours of pulling fruitlessly on the starter rope, I'd happily give it to anyone I didn't like. Replacing it with a Stihl from that local specialty store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Deal works great I bought this saw to cut firewood and minor trimming around the house. I was a tad bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews. I ran two tanks a fuel through it so far and have had no issue with this saw. I followed the starting instructions and started three pulls cold start. Cutting power is awesome I highly recommend thus saw to anyone looking for a strong inexpensive saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised Saw arrived on Thursday, used it for the first time on Saturday to clean-up blow-downs from the latest Noreaster. Saw cuts like a hot knife through butter -- plum, maple, pine -- right through it. However, I was shocked that on a saw of caliber, it did not include a scabbard for the bar and chain -- that is such a basic piece of safety equipment, that even the cheap battery powered saws include one. Come on Husqvarna -- it costs you a dollar to include one and then I wont have to put a Stihl scabbard on my nice new saw...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best saw ever I have had my 440 rancher sense 2006 and have cut more wood with it than it probably should have but I take care of it and it takes care of me buy firing up and cutting around 7-10 cords of wood to heat up with for winter

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware-inferior prduct We purchased this saw new May 11th. We went to cut down one small tree. Engine seemed to get loaded down even under no-load. When we went to change the chain, we found overtemp discoloration on the clutch. Upon reassembly, chain brake would not release. Chain brake operation felt funky from the get-go. There may well be Huskies that are decent, but this product has undergone significant re design and is not the good ol Husky you knew

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Totally unreliable This chainsaw had maybe 6 good uses. Ever since then I have had to spend more time to get it started and keep it running than actually using it. I've had to take it into the shop twice and they never really find anything wrong. They will replace the fuel filter or something and it will be good for a tank or two and right back to the same old problems. And I'm not using bad fuel. This unit is being fueled from the same container as several other tools that use the same mix and absolutely no issues and most are used more than the chainsaw. It is just a total lemon. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for the price! Nice weight and balance. For me, anything bigger than this saw, I am going to call a professional! This saw is pretty light for the power and versatility. Easy to assemble and tension the chain. If you follow the starting directions in the manual to the letter, it will start within 3 pulls. It is easy to flood the motor if you don't follow the directions, requiring a lot more pulls, choke open, to clear the excess gas or let it sit for a bit. ALL new power equipment is a LOT more finicky about starting than older equipment, especially if it is left sitting with gasoline that has ethanol (pump gas) in it. I have started using ethanol free fuel (trugas) and my troubles are a LOT less. But the starting issue seems to be a hot topic with this saw (and a Lot of other equipment). Once stated, The saw is well balanced, enough power for what I need to do. If you are going to fell a lot of big trees, then get a bigger saw. For a home owner, this is close to ideal, IMO. A HUGE upgrade in performance from my 35 year old 14 inch saw, which is a LOT easier to start though! Some notes - Not crazy about the plastic housing. I am used to a much older saw that was pure business - no covers etc. Got to take the cover off to access the business end. No doubt this is done for weight savings and to protect the internals from saw dust, etc. Looks good, but feels a bit cheap. If you are a pro, or want pro features and power (and the additional weight and cost), look at something bigger. But pleasantly surprised with this saw.
