Built-In Dishwasher with Fan Dry - 24" - Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2877.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed We've owned this dishwasher for 15 months. We have had to have to repair it 4 times! We have repaired the top rack and eventually had to have it replaced. Its stopped working twice. Wouldn't fill with water. The first time my husband figured it out the second we gave up and called a repair guy. Luckily it was still under warranty but only by a few days..... It cleans okay enough when it does work (which is why I gave it two stars) but Id save myself some headaches and not buy Whirlpool. (we have a Whirlpool fridge that cant decide if it wants to freeze everything or keep everything at room temperature and a poorly working stove that changes settings all on its own that we bought at the same time)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely quiet! Self-explanatory controls Had to replace an older Whirlpool from 1997. This dishwasher is incredibly quiet with self explanatory controls located on the top edge. This is an advantage as our last DW made a grinding noise and its control buttons on the front facade were constantly being bumped into and changed by anyone leaning against the counter. The stainless steel is inside and out, which makes it a bit darker inside, but so easy to clean. Having a little trouble adjusting to the silverware holders being on the right side instead of center front and the sections to separate spoons are a bit of a challenge too [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, efficient, quite, but again Great dishwasher! Quiet and everything comes out super clean. Only draw back is the utensil holder is a bit odd and won't fit all my silverware so I have to lift the tabs up to store them. I installed myself very easy and light nest value. And I have 2 little kids and having the buttons on top was terrific. Was sceptical at first but operates just fine on top of the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not work in a corner location This is an extremely poor design with controls on top of door 'and' a handle with a 2" bow in it. When installed properly this dishwasher will protude 3" from the edge of the counter top. This makes the unit incompatible with any corner location, as drawers on adjacent side will not open completely. Even when installed flush with countertop (which then hides the controls), the bowed handled extends 2" in to the drawer path (see photo). I'll accept responsibility for not taking into consideration all variables, but it's completely irresponsible for Whirlpool to design a dishwasher that will be problematic in 40% of all installation. Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you’re looking for a dishwasher look no further works perfect cleans dries quiet and looks good I’ve seen two bad reviews I’d blame it on not being installed properly not everyone is mechanically inclined or can’t read directions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value - Great Cleaning Purchased this a few weeks ago to replace another brand/12 y/o unit. The old unit worked fine (I thought) but the top rack roller had broken and I could not fix it. Easy install by my husband (who hates plumbing). Used it first on the quick wash and with just that cycle, I noticed a huge difference in my glassware and flatware. They were sparkling! I hadn't noticed the old unit wasn't getting them that clean. I did use a rinse agent, as recommended. Smooth rack rolling, relatively quiet, clean lines and solid feeling door. Intuitive control panel, I am very pleased with my choice. Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good I was very surprised, in researching dishwashers, to see how many negative reviews were out there-- even for the high-end units. It didn't instill much confidence that I'd be able to find an affordable, effective, and reliable replacement for our dying dishwasher. Eventually, I just decided to take the plunge and buy this model. While it's only been with me for a week or so, and run 4-5 cycles, I can say that I'm very happy with it so far. It's very quiet, cleans well, and dries most items completely (the exception being things that allow water to collect on top). We are using rinse aid, which really does seem to help with drying, but the machine performs as well with budget liquid detergent as it does with the included sample "pods". The only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars are the short time I've had the unit and the fact that the cutlery baskets cannot be attached to the door (to save room for large pans, etc.). This was one feature we preferred on our previous dishwasher, but it seems very rare now to find that option. We do really like that there are two smaller cutlery baskets, target 2 than one large basket, which provides some flexibility.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major design flaw leading to mold buildup I purchased this dishwasher from Lowes and had been using it for several months when it started to smell like mold and mildew. I cleaned the filter and ran a few cycles with a dishwasher cleaning solution which seemed to help for a bit. After another week or so, the smell was back so I took out the filter to clean it again which was full of mold. I inspected it closer to find that there was about an inch of standing water in the bottom of the machine. After reading the instruction manual, this is apparently by design. But because this water never fully drains out of the machine, it continues to build up mold every few weeks which requires constant cleaning. I have attached a photo of what the bottom of the machine looks like even after two empty washes with just dishwasher cleaning solution. I have never had this issue with any of the dishwashers I have ever owned so I'm extremely disappointed that selected this machine instead of the others in this price range. I really don't like the fact that I have to constantly clean the bottom of this dishwasher with a toothbrush every other week. If I could still return it, I would in a heartbeat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware We've had this dishwasher for about 2 years now and it's been nothing but trouble. The main issue we've had with this unit has been the shoddy design and construction of the racks. From shortly after purchasing this unit they have been in the process of self destructing. The wheels have fallen off, in fact all but one are now super glued in place and on what seems like a weekly basis, something else is malfunctioning. Now the dishwasher itself has stopped working. If whirlpool can't do better than this product they should really get into a different line of work. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this dishwasher and anything else with the "Whirlpool" logo on it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful change! Love the upgrade from our old dishwasher. This one is very quiet. The washer time is long, but the dishes are crystal clean and dry at the end. Is easier to load without blocking the sprayer arms. Sleek and simple design with the controls hidden on top of the door. Hope that it lasts a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Extremely quiet. We made sure to use all of the insulation blankets so we can minimize the sound. Cleaning has been excellent. Really happy with the look of the interior. Surprisingly, the exterior stays very clean as this difficult to smudge. Dishes look great. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek. Quiet. looks great! I"ve had it for a month now and used it several times and its great. I bought the black stainless steel so I don't have to clean, which is nice. It runs super quiet, which was important because my condo isn't all that big and then old dishwasher was very loud especially trying to watch tv in the evening. it also uses less water, approx. 6-7 gallons per wash as opposed to the almost 9 the old one had. and its only an hour long, can choose longer, (one hour 18 minutes if you choose the heated dry option with it.) Over all, I would absolutely recommend this product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed We purchased the Whirlpool because we had read about their reliability. We were focused on reliability over bells and whistles with our purchase. Unfortunately, the control board quit working within 20 days of purchase after 5 uses. I tried calling Whirlpool (on Sat.), but naturally their customer service isn't available until Monday. Outside of the major issue, this dishwasher had the same decibel rating as the one it replaced but is noticeably louder. We found the bar handle looks better than it functions compared to handles built into the door. We also adjusted the top rack to its highest setting, but our mixing spoons in the silverware container would still be in the way of the top rack sprayer. Very disappointed with this purchase that I am stuck with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works with Quirks I've only had this dishwasher a short time, but it has some convenience issues. All of the tines are straight making the dishes slide back and forth every time you pull out a tray to add a dish. My previous DW had a little notch in the tine that kept them in place. The silverware holder is annoying, holes are small and there aren't enough. It takes very long sometimes over three hours. However, it works well. Possibly all of these issues are resolved in a higher price model, my previous model was a different brand and discontinued or I would have purchased it again it lasted nine years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 1 year I bought this product a year ago and it is already broken. Ironically, the factory warranty ends after 1 year and since I did not purchase the extended plan through Lowe's I will be stuck paying more than the cost of the dishwasher to fix it or buying a new dishwasher. Buyer's beware of purchasing this without the extended protection plan.
Date published: 2018-03-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good and lots of room We bought this dishwasher to replace a 20-year-old model. We're very happy with how attractive it looks, and with how much room there is, especially on the top rack. (We were surprised at the store to see that some dishwashers have noticeably less room, even though the units all take the same amount of space beneath the counter.) We don't love how the controls aren't visible from a functional point of view, even though it does help with the dishwasher's overall attractiveness. And we don't love that a normal cycle takes 3 hours, though that seems to be directly related to an efficient use of water. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Date published: 2019-06-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Drying Feature This washer would have gotten 5 stars if your dishes would dry without a drying agent. I called Whirlpool to inquire why my dishes weren't drying. I was told the washers are designed and tested to be used with a drying agent. I have soft water and never had to use a drying agent untill now. The machine itself is easy to adjust the wash settings and it runs very quiet. Since stainless is the new standard I had to pay more for white which I don't think is right. Overall we like the washer over our old Amana. I guess we can live with the added expense of a drying agent, such as, Jet Dry. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy!!! I purchased this dishwasher as part of a complete new kitchen set. After using it 16 months, the motor has burned out. I had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 35 years. It was super great, but no more. I will not buy another Whirlpool appliance. My over the range microwave has given me problems and the refrigerator is the LOUDEST thing I have ever heard. It knocks all day and night. Nothing is made like it used to be.
Date published: 2018-04-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am now the one that does the dishes So far so good. Installed it 2 weeks ago to replace a cabinet and added a disposal to the new house where there wasn't one. Dishes come out clean and dryer than my previous one which was 20 years old at my old house. The user manual says u can put the silverware in the door but that doesn't work unless I'm doing it wrong. Besides that good dishwasher for the low Lowes price. I am now the dish washer operator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does not match other black stainless steel items We ordered the black stainless steel model to match the other appliances which we had already ordered. It took an extraordinarily long time to deliver this - 6 weeks+ It was delivered with a blue film on it.. so imagine our surprise when it the film was removed and the color was noticeably lighter than our refrigerator, microwave and gas range. Otherwise, it is very quiet. time will tell about longevity. Now I am doubting if we paid extra for a color dishwasher we did not receive... In the photo: dishwasher is on the right, gas range is on the left. Excuse the mess [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whirlpool dishwasher review It is quiet just like the salesman said, but it vents to the side and not the front which can be a problem for a tight space. Controls are inside and not on front. With door closed tightly and if dishes are not washed for a couple of meals, odors develop. Silverware placement is on the side, rather than in front, which makes it harder to load silverware. Otherwise it is easy to load and accepts all sorts of shapes of dinnerware. Inside color is dark rather than white, making it hard to see inside. Cycle is long (over two hours). Appears to be well made and well insulated. I would rate it high on quality but average on overall design (side venting is not good). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad we bought this one Bought this one after we had purchased a cheaper one that was louder and didn't have the upper wash arm. We are so much happier with this one. It is so quiet and cleans great. It was a special order from the factory so we had to wait. But I don't mind, seems like it is better built than some of the ones on the showroom floor that are in stock and available to pick up. Dries the dishes great. Have had it for 3 months now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Whirlpool dishwasher Runs very quiet- buts runs a long time Over 2 hrs. Hope the top electronics work ok And last a long time. That is my main concern.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Standing water in filter reservoir. Doesn't dry. Purchased July 2018. Use jet dry (setting #4, highest possible setting). Clean filters weekly. Dishes don't dry on heated dry setting. Inside of the dishwasher has beads of on the walls and ceiling. There has always been a few inches of water in the filter reservoir. Inside of dishwasher stinks like mold/bacteria. Pulled one of the rotating spray arms and used my mouth to blow air backwards through the bar and slimy goops of stuff shot out. Disgusting. Very poor design as many others have had similar issues. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly quiet and powerful! We've owned this unit a month. The last unit we owned lasted 16 years. We'd gotten used to the strange quirks of the old one, until finally, it just couldn't do it anymore. Off to Menards we went. So, after considering about 10 other washers, we settled on this, of course it's a Whirlpool, so we knew with certainty that regardless of which machine we bought, it would be worth the investment. This machine has 5 cycles, will wash clean ANYTHING you can put in there, not a spot left! Thanks Whirlpool! One more thing, it's super quiet! This makes a huge difference in our house!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great in my new kitchen Can’t review how well it works. Remodeling my kitchen and just installed it but still have to hook up to water and drain. Hope it works as well as it looks. My father in law was a appliance repairman before having to retire and whirlpool has always been his first choice in appliances. (And why I own All whirlpool) He thoroughly checked out every little thing on the dishwasher and liked and approved of the way it’s made and features. He doesn’t usually like the new and modern and will point out and tell you why. He also checked out the new range and over the range microwave but that’s another review. Rated 5 out of 5 by from In Depth Review - Real Usage This Is A Very Good Dishwasher, if used correctly. Manuals tell you specs and etc, but never tell how you to use the EXACT model you purchased to it's best potential. All dishwashers are different. WDT730PAHZ: I've had KitchenAid, Kenmore Elite and Miele and I have to say this Whirlpool, used correctly, is the best overall. I mean, real clean dishes. Here is the key: 1. Best Result - use Normal Wash, Hi Temp and Heat Dry = Wonderful! Long, but also energy efficient. 2. 1 Hour wash is par/ok for quick result. No high temp or sani option on the 1 hr wash option so result is not like, I repeat, not like 1. Also uses way more energy crammed into 1 hr. 3. Sani. Oh, that sani feature everyone craves. Reality - not really needed in daily use (except perhaps baby bottles, canning, etc.). Use sani only when needed. Always using sani temp can also work against some glasses, etc over time. A friend has the white Whirlpool portable on this site. And wow, it is the best portable I ever saw. I mean, if you want portable, this is the portable to buy. No sani (downer), but it has 1 hr wash with hi temp option. But, 1 hr and high temp uses a very high amount of energy just to save and hour. So, considering all these eco regulations now and trying to make a good dishwasher, the WDT730PAHZ achieves this. Again, statement 1 = You get the same result as the heavy duty portable, it takes longer, but waaay cheaper energy bills. Effective, drawn out cycle for a reason: stellar results with moderate energy use. My friend said when I first got it "I like your 730 because it's nicer and has sani. I said "yours has high temp with the 1 hr cycle." She said "I love my portable, but I'd rather wait 2 hours for the exact same clean and sparkling results with yours, and have a sani option and way cheaper power bills!". I said "... I see!" Oh, life!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from complete Junk and horrible customer service I bought this dishwasher along with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave a year and a half ago, within the first year it completely stopped pumping water, and wouldn't cycle, had a repairman come out and was told it was the pump, been about 8 months and it's gone out again. I called whirlpool and since its no longer under warranty I was told I'd basically have to pay the cost of a new washer for a service call, they even denied a replacement/exchange since they need 3 failures first... I've never seen a washer fail this often and from the reviews its obviously a regular occurrence. The washer pump is junk and fails often and obviously, the company doesn't stand behind this expensive waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 Service Calls within the first 14 months Simply unacceptable. Whirlpool service has not been great either. First call was within the 12 months and second call was same problem not fixed by first service guy and they refused to warranty. I recommend another company for all appliances.
