BOSCH NIT8668SUC/01 SERVICE BULLETIN
I purchased the Bosch induction cooktop NIT8668SUC/01 in March 2019. Had a similar cooktop previously in another home and loved it- so i bought another. Unfortunately it did not work correctly from the start-burners kept shutting down after 1-4 minutes and the electronic did not work properly. Called Bosch and after lecturing me on using the correct cookware, they finally recommended I contact a local company that services Bosch. The technician got the run around for the first 30 minutes from Bosch - but Nick being persistant spoke to someone else who admitted there was a service bulletin on this model. Nick had to take the thing apart, remove two diodes and reassemble. Now everything works correctly. What I don't understand is why Bosch did not issue a recall. Seems unprofessional to me. Anyway, after the repair, love the cooktop. Heats fast and easy to clean. Replaced a large gas cooktop. I hope this review helps others. I would give it 5 stars if it had worked right from the start. Customers should not have to do Quality Control for Bosch and when a problem IS found, they should let the customer know there is a problem. Bosch Corporate ethics questionable in my mind. I have had my Bosch cooktop now for a couple of weeks and I can't say enough about it, I absolutely love cooking on it. I have never had an induction top before so it does take a little trial and error to figure out what settings to use. It does have a reference for simmering and so forth in the owners manual. I have yet to use the Autochef. The humming is low and since I listen to music when I cook, I don't even hear it. The only time it gets a little loud is when I hit the power boost. The only downside for me is the fingerprints and the constant wiping down but workwise, its awesome and I love it!!
