Nice Trimmer-Bad Trimmer Line
I have only used this trimmer once in my rather small yard and I find that I am already replacing the line on it. This is totally ridiculous, to think that I thought I would get a better product by spending more money. HA, what a joke that turned out to be. While the trimmer itself is comfortable to use, it loses all of it's appeal at the frustration of constantly having to add more line to it. I'm keeping my eyes open for someone who manufactures the hard plastic replacement blades for it. Until then I'll cuss out Black and Decker every time I use this. At one time they WERE a reliable manufacturer.

trimmer lines
The problem with this type is:
1 - if you buy the line only and try to "roll" it on to the unit yourself, it becomes a chore. The string does not hold well, slips out and is very difficult to get back in place in the trimmer.
2 - if you buy the full unit itself, the string will break too often when you're trimming. The string always breaks inside the eunit itself. This is due to it getting "stuck" on the "lips" inside the unit itself. I tried a stronger string but the same thing happens. I think it is rolled on too tight to begin with.
In any event, this is a difficult trimmer string to handle.

plastic becomes brittle and breaks
I'm on my third reel and got only two uses from the first two. There is something wrong with the plastic on this reel. The plastic becomes brittle over time and the reel will literally crumble apart in you hand.
The first reel disintegrated in use. I installed a second reel which also came apart in use. Upon installing a new reel (the third one) the old reel (second installed) literally crumbled apart as I was removing it. The plastic had become very brittle and easy broke. New reels look sturdy and the plastic is strong, but over time the plastic becomes brittle and will come apart.
Photo attached of the second reel crumbled after only two uses and less than a year old.

Save your money-buy a reel of string and reload
For almost 9 bucks you get the cheapest string and it isn't enough to weed whack an average yard. Buy a reel of the better quality string (yellow) and reload the spool that came with your trimmer.

Tangled after 5 minutes
I bought this because my B&D Hedgehog needed line. After 5 minutes using this product the string became tangled. When I opened this the string unwound completely and I finally threw the whole spool away. Complete waste of time and money. I am very dissatisfied with this product.

Falls apart
The last 4 I have bought have fell apart and became completely unraveled while trying to put it in. I thought it was an anomoly the first 2 times, but these last 2 confirm that the roll will not stay together upon installation.

String breaks incessantly
I use 2 to 3 spools every time I trim my yard. Expensive for the time use I get from it. Someone at B & D needs to take this back to the drawing board! Poor quality!

0.080-in Trimmer Line
I really like this trimmer line. It cuts down some pretty good sized weeds. The double line really helps. I have found if you move fairly slow when cutting down tightly growing, tall weeds it won't wind up the weeds. The only thing that is rather discouraging is that when it gets close to end, it will sometimes spit out the several inches or so of the line. That is quite a waste. Other lines and machines do the same thing, I have noticed. It needs to be knotted or melted better to stay in the wheel a little better when you get towards the end. The string doesn't melt together while in use. So I don't have to stop in the middle of cutting to unwind and rewind the strings. It is quick and easy to change the string.
