Sharp but very thin !
I was cutting (demolishing) the welded aluminum diesel fuel tank on my boat because it had developed a leak. To do the job, I was using various tools: Reciprocating saw, jig saw and angle grinder to suit best the location and position.
I chose the blade with my reciprocating saw for a straight vertical cut on a 1/8" aluminum plate baffle. It was nicely and smoothly cutting downwards at 45 degrees.but as I was approaching the bottom, I heard a big THUMP. The blade tip had hit the bottom of the tank. The blade, which was still perfectly sharp, was completely buckled. This blade is cutting nicely but is just too thin to survive the forces encountered when used with a heavy reciprocating saw - it should be as thick as most longer blades are.....
