I was wondering how to use the dehumidifier. Do we have to put the hose in the window or will it just blow the air in the room ? Also is it normal that it is releasing air for the dehumidifier fonction.
Hi SandrineAH,
I thank you for posting your question of the Arctic King 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. When using this unit as a dehumidifier, I recommend connecting a drain hose to the lower drain plug for continuous drainage. Releasing hot air is a normal function.

How do you drain this unit?
Doesn’t require draining if using ac or fan. If using dehumidifier then there is a hose provided to drain in any container.

Easy set-up & worked great.
Bought last night for daughter's room. Anticipating another hot summer and tired of fighting to install/uninstall my old window a/c, it was a bonus to get this on sale! As a solo parent, I needed a unit I could get home & up 2 flights of stairs by myself - at 50 lbs this was manageable. Setup was incredibly simple (ignore the quick set up instructions - they were worse than the booklet), the unit was relatively quiet, and it cooled off whole upper floor (~450 sq ft).

Great Product
I bought this AC unit last year for our two bedroom apartment, which is roughly 800 square feet. Very easy to set up, and blows cold air. We have two dogs, and I am pregnant this year, and we love it. Actually just buying another one now for our bedroom.

Does the job.
Works fine. I have it in my bedroom and it is usually only ever on at night. It is a recent purchase so I'm not sure how long it will last. Some reviews say it broke after a year or two, although there are for sure people out there who are running this thing 24/7. My expectation was that it could cool a normal closed door room for eight hours and it does that.

Only good as a powerful fan
I returned this thing within a week. Very easy set up and great features but it fails to actually cool the air which is the one thing I needed it to do. If you want a powerful fan get this, otherwise please don't waste your time! Ask the Rona employees, I heard they are getting multiple returns of this unit for the same reason.

no complaint whatsoever
I bought this unit 3 weeks ago, with some reservations considering the reviews, but I have no complaints at all. I have not had to empty the machine yet, no leaks have happened, it makes as much noise as I expect an AC unit to make (which is to say, yes it makes noise but just rushing air, it's fine otherwise), it was easy to assemble and it cools very well. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would totally recommend it to others.

Good value for the dollar
I found this unit really kept our bedroom cold. I say cold and not cool as we slept under a blanket with this unit on. Because of our bedroom shape it didn't effectively cool the rest of the apartment but it did what we got it for. We got used to the noise...it's effective white noise that actually helped drown out the neighbourhood birds that always wake us at 5:00am

Not bad
Works decent and was easy to set up however it lacking the ability to control the direction of the fan makes it less likely to be as effective . I've never seen any model on any a.c. unit without this feature and assumed the product would include it as well. I was pretty disappointed when I realized this unit works well only in one room.
