Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best little Band Saw I read the reviews for this product after I bought it and was very nervous. I pulled it out of the box, put it on the table, plugged it in and used it. I couldn’t have been happier! The first thing I cut was a 4X6 and made a lamp spelling my son’s name, JACK. The reason I cut straight lines, curves and angles. It cuts great right out of the box. The next night I just cut random shapes to gain experience. It works wonderful, never binds and couldn’t be easier to use. The light can be moved to ensure accurate cuts every time. I think the bad reviews on here are due to inexperience or maybe just a bad saw. If you buy this you will not be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good bandsaw! I have used this bandsaw for a couple of projects and I have to say that I am really impressed with this bandsaw. I placed a .125 width blade on it and it tracks perfectly. I have read other reviews which state the saw is noisy, but I do not think so. The table was rather difficult to get level, but after an hour or so in adjusting, I finally got the table mostly level. The blade track and adjustments are fairly easy to set. After setting all adjustments, I started using the bandsaw, finished a small wood collapsible basket project and was really happy with the results. I would highly recommend this bandsaw to the individual who does small woodworking projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 9" Skil Bandsaw I have had this band saw now for over a year and always hated it thinking it had no power and poor tracking. I was recently looking into buying a new one and decided that I would look up more into this one and see if I was doing anything wrong. It's a two speed so you have to open it up and change the belt around by loosening the two bolts on the backside and swapping the belt from the big wheel to the small wheel at the motor and the small wheel to the big wheel on the metal wheel blade. Once you've done that you have to push the motor down to add tension back onto the belt and at the same time tighten the bolts to hold it in place. I did that this morning and tested it with 3/4 inch red oak board and it cut like butter. I now love this tool and have decided against purchasing a different one. Hope this helps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skil=Junk I bought this saw to help my son do his pinewood derby car. Problem is, once assembled, the table looked skewed from left to right. I tried everything and read the manual, and there's no adjustment for it. I called Skil and was on hold for 20 minutes. Once the tech answered, she placed me on hold several times and finally apologized for not being able to find an answer to my issue. She told me to call back tomorrow between 8 - 4 to discuss with a "senior" tech. While on hold, I googled this issue and found several mentions of this same issue. Tomorrow this saw will be going back to Lowes. Buyer beware!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Skill Band Saw Had trouble getting the blade to track correct. When it was centered on the top wheel it was to the extreme inside on the bottom wheel. Finally had to let it run to the front of the top wheel to keep it on the bottom wheel. The roller bearing on the bottom guide helps to keep it in line. Have not tried another blade yet. Cuts pretty good and has good throat room. Will use it for light cutting and form cutting. Should be great for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Skil Band Saw First let me say that I am a professional woodturner. I expanded my product line into walking canes and needed a small band saw, or decent scroll saw, to get a little fancier with the handles. All the scroll saws I looked at I would not buy. I looked at the benchtop bandsaws from Skil, Rockwell, and Ryobi. I settled on the Skil seeing I could not see any deal breaker differences. First of all, if you are going to use a bandsaw, you have to understand bandsaws and just reading a manual is not going to work. All of them have their quirks, and that includes my 3 hp 18" monster. I have so far successfully cut handles from pecan, mesquite and osage orange (bois d' arc, bodark) without a problem at all. You have to let the saw do the work and not try and muscle it. Most of the reviews I have read by people who did not like this saw have not learned the particulars of using a bandsaw successfully. I like this little saw and it does exactly what I wanted it to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good weekender band saw This saw works well for me becasue I am a weekend small projects person, it is worth its inexpensive value. the safety switch feature is nice, if I had any complaints it would be the table feels slightly cheap with the slide square and I wish the LED light was a bit longer it does not extend to as far as you should be able to reach it. other than that a good bench top tool for the value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NO REPLACEMENT PARTS Wanted to purchase a (wheel tire) that broke on this 9 inch band saw. I contacted Skill, they referred me to ereplacement . Results, they don't have and can't find it. I have been to Lowe's three times to purchase a new wheel tire and have discussed with manager at Lowe's store in Asheboro ,NC . He talked with some in Lowe's headquarters. They were going to find out something about the subject and then manager was to email me, but I have not received any information from the manager . I purchased in year 2012 at Lowe's and have used it very little when I discovered the tire brokened . I'm now thinking about just "giving" it back to Lowe's and just go somewhere else and purchases another band saw, and a different name brand, or course !
