Great power, poor reliability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased September 2, 2019 and today November 15, 2019 with occasional use, the drill has completely quit operating. This drill has tons of power and I never found anything it could not handle, however with less than 3 months of infrequent use, the fact that is no longer functioning is highly disappointing considering the price you pay for Dewalt, i had much higher expectations of reliability. My co-worker had the same experience with the same model as well. Also disappointing is the fact that on a 3 month old drill, I now have to drive an hour out of my way to take it in to a service center, and have no estimated time of repair.

Nice overall - wish it had built-in bit holder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t use this as my every day drill (I also have a 20v compact drill), but when I need a large hole drilled or a hammer drill for concrete this really does a good job. Would have given 5 stars but for some reason dewalt decided to get rid of the built-in bit holders an make them an accessory you have to purchase separately. To me this is a big deal as I’m constantly changing from drill to driver and hate fumbling around looking for my driver bit. I did end up buying the bit holder, but it makes the base of the drill bulky if you also have the tool hook on the other side, especially if you’re using the tough case to store/carry the drill.

Totally a step up from the first generation xr!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this drill immensely, the three speeds help speed up the job when needed or slow down for fine work. The slide switch light function is very clutch for when you forget your flashlight in your bag, or even dies, the light is super bright. I only wish it had the three ring lights like impact gun! I had the first generation xr 3 speed drill and it was phenomenal, never failed me until someone decided they needed it more than me and took it, so I bought this drill in a 6 tool combo pack and it was money well spent, buy once, cry once!

Good drill, doesn’t last though, red brand better
Been using dewalt all my life and this hammer drill in particular and the model before it both have the same issue, hammer and trigger becomes intermittent. I’ve taken the liberty to open mine up because it’s past warranty and I happen to be an electrician with motor knowledge and noticed wires that had the insulation knicked off and a burning smell coming from the clutch area. Now the clutch has sieved entirely.
poor craftsmanship. I love the yellow and black but it’s just not up to par.

Great Drill
Love this drill! Drills right through all kinds of stuff without issue, love the worklight feature as well as the multiple speeds. Solid construction, quality brushless motor.
The only thing I wish DeWalt would have changed was the coating/material of the collar. I have never had this drill exposed to heavy moisture and the chuck collar is starting to rust.

Disappointed
Its my first hammer drill given to me as a gift on Christmas 2016. I used it sparingly until now as I'm drilling a single hole through an 8" concrete foundation. The dril did an awesome job but I needed to make the hole a bit larger. This time around after getting a larger diameter bit the drill would stop after a few minutes. I would pull the trigger...nothing, then it would start and stop, start and stop. Its not the batteries they are were fully charged. Checked U tube, the 20 V drills have an ongoing sodering issue with the two middle sensing wires inside the drill. Like I said disappointed. I'm taking it to a local authorized service center to have them look it over. We'll see how that goes.

Great power, short life.
Has great speed and torque. Sadly trigger assembly or something died after two months after receiving as a gift.

DeWalt Hammer Drill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased one of these a year ago and thought it was a good one. I just got this one for Christmas and it's 20 times faster and powerful as my old one. My old one didn't work right apparently. I love it! My old one had a regular light on it, this one stays on long enough for me to keep working. Also, the clip is nice, I didn't have one on my old one. Definitely will be buying another one of these next time I need another one!
