Does this model (WDF540PADW) allow side mounting for granite counter top?
Hi Juan,
Yes, that is possible. Please refer to page 17 from the Installation Instructions Guide:
"
– For countertops that are marble, granite, or another
hard surface, use Side Attachment: go to Step 37
NOTE: If the gap between the top of the door and the
underside of the counter top is tight (less than 1
/4" [6,35 mm]),
we suggest using Side Attachment to keep from scratching
the User Interface or console with the anchor screws."

what is the decibel level on this machine?
I do not know the actual decibel level, but I would give it a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the noisiest,1 being the least, I would give it a 3.5

yes but only about 1/2 inch and it is very quiet

Is this stainless steel inside?
Hi Marionw, the WDF540PADW has a plastic tub with Nylon racks. This dishwasher also offers you Cycle Memory which allows you to quickly start your dishwasher with one button. It automatically remembers the last cycle you picked so it's stored and ready to go. Hope this helps, thank you for your question!

Excellent Heavily Used Dishwasher
We have 3 children (one being a toddler and infant twins) and we use this dishwasher several times a day with bottles, sippy cups, and normal household dishes. This dishwasher cleans very well, a lot better than our old one, and holds a lot more dishes than our old one. We looked at and researched a lot of dishwashers before selecting this one. The guy at lowes suggested this one after we discussed our children's ages and usage requirements. We have had this diswaher for several months now and still love it. I bought this diswasher and the $20 kit, and I was washing dishes in less than two hours. Intall was quick and easy.

Disappointed
I bought this about a month ago. I was very excited to have a Whirlpool as I have had such good luck with the brand in the past. I am disappointed with my new dishwasher. It will not dry my dishes unless I open the door as soon as the cycle finishes. My house is very humid to start with and this adds to the humidity problem. Cannot leave the silverware rack in the door....have to dry them because the water runs down the door and keeps them wet. Doesn't hold as many dishes as my old cheap one because it won't clean unless there is only one layer of dirty dishes. You also HAVE to use Jet Dry! The positive thing is that it is quiet!

Outstanding dishwasher, great value
We bought the Whirlpool dishwasher to replace an older dishwasher. After looking at just about every dishwasher made, and all the different features as well as prices, we found that the Whirlpool had many of the features found only in higher priced machines. Since installed, we just love it! Not only is it full of great features, but it so much quieter (even though model we chose did not have the lowest noise rating) than our old dishwasher. And the racks are so roomy, and convenient. And so far, we've found this Whirlpool cleans even the heaviest of cleaning jobs with ease. A great product, and even made in the USA! Keep it up Whirlpool!

Very satisfied with our new dishwasher
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We've been using our new dishwasher for a few weeks now and are very impressed with it. It is nice looking and quiet. If we use a rinsing liquid, the dishes come out extremely clean and dry. I haven't seen my wine glasses look so spotless. KEep in mind though, that you have to use a rinsing liquid to get this effect (and this is consistent with the manufacturer's instructions). If you don't, the dishes can come out very wet.
Also, the cutlery rack is a bit awkward for us because half the slots are too small for our cutlery to fit in. We can lift up the covers though to solve that issue.

Super Quiet - shh don't wake the baby!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased one for my house after purchasing and installing the exact same model of Whirlpool dishwasher in our church kitchen 2 weeks earlier. Our old 23 year old model was still cleaning the dishes but the white Corelle-type cups on the top rack were coming out with what looked like tea stains on the inside only. I decided to take these cups to the church dishwasher and use our same detergent. The dishwasher was amazingly super quiet and in one wash all of the staining was gone. We have had ours only for one week and used it for 2 loads and everything is impressive! So happy with this purchase:)

Great Dishwasher!
We bought this dishwasher a few months ago to replace a 20 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that finally gave out, and are very happy with our purchase. As long as you follow manufacturer's instructions (clearly states to use a rinse agent), all functions work as expected, and it does a great job in cleaning! Our dishes are clean and dry, and are not 'wet' which I've read on other reviews. We have well water, with a whole-house filtration system and a water softener. Must say the dishwasher looks very nice in our kitchen as well - thanks for the design Whirlpool! Love that this dishwasher is quieter that the one we replaced as well!

Flexible
This is a good dishwasher for a good price. It gets the dishes clean. It has a cycle to please everyone, it seems. These include water savers that take a long time, short cycles that use more water, and cycles that will sterilized dishes with ultra hot water. The flatware tray is easy to remove and replace. It is very quiet, really hard to hear. My only gripe is that it has not audible signal in the short cycle to let you know it is done. I like to open the dishwasher when it is done to let the dishes air dry, but it is hard to tell when the cycle I use is over. It would be nice if there were a buzzer or some other audible signal.

Great price Great Dishwasher
I bought this dishwasher a few weeks ago. I host large family/friends meals and was tired of a couple of us always spending our visiting time doing the dishes.Although we would have great dish washing conversations the years of hosting, cooking most of the meal and then doing the dishes was getting to be too much of a chore. I love my dishwasher. Even having to do two loads is acceptable. The price was reasonable. It cleans very well. I have tried all but the sani cycle. It uses very little water. It was so wonderful to have "Whirly" do the dishes so everyone was able to relax after supper. I am looking forward to more family and friend get togethers.
