Does this Snowblower come with the cord to plug in and Start it like most other Snowblowers ?

Asked by: Gilligan2
Thank you for your question. The extension cord for use of the optional electric start feature on this snow thrower is not included. Use a 10' grounded 16AWG (minimum) outdoor rated extension cord for best performance.

hi can you add power steering to this model?

Asked by: coreyw
Thank you for your inquiry. Power steering can not be effectively added to this model. For great upgrades like power steering and heated hand grips consider the similar model 31AM5BTR596 Lowe's item #567374

Can I purchase tire chains to increase traction? My driveway has a slight grade.

Asked by: Bruin1958
This premium snow thrower features revolutionary Eco-Flex Rubber airless tires with superior snow shedding properties. While the aggressive tread design provides excellent traction, manufacturer's model # 490-241-0028 snow chains can be fitted. Ensure the slide shoes are adjusted appropriately to ease forward motion.

Once the unit is warmed up and the choke is off the engine doesn't stop revving as if it isn't getting enough fuel. Is there an easy fix?

Asked by: joey5001
Here are some recommendations. If this is a new unit then we would would suggest a service centre look at the unit and resolve under possible warranty. If it is an older model it could be due to fuel issues. Stale fuel is the number one cause of hard starting in small engines. Today’s fuels break down rapidly, decreasing their ability to ignite. The days of filling large containers of fuel and expecting them to last for several weeks (unless treated with fuel stabilizer) are long gone. IMPORTANT: Whenever possible, avoid using fuels containing alcohol-based additives. Use of fuel that contains more than 10% ethanol, such as E15 (15% alcohol), is NOT recommended. If you choose to use fuel with an alcohol content that exceeds approved usage levels, you do so completely at your own risk. 1. Keep your fuel fresh. A variety of Sta-Bil® brand fuel additives are available from our company. Properly mixed in the correct proportion to the gasoline, these products will maintain the chemical stability of your fuel for up to 12 months. NOTE: If you choose not to use a fuel stabilizer, drain the fuel from equipment that you do not use regularly. Small engines that will be stored for longer than 30 days should be COMPLETELY drained of fuel before storage. This includes any fuel in the fuel tank, the fuel lines and carburetion system. Products that are only used intermittently and spend a large amount of their life in storage between uses (such as snow throwers, chain saws, garden tillers, log splitters etc...) are especially prone to stale-fuel problems. Why this is important: When the fuel ages the residue left behind is sticky and similar in composition to varnish. Left to dry, this residue can clog the fuel ports on carburetors and fuel delivery systems. Don't forget the fuel in the float bowl: Most small engines - unlike automobiles and fuel-injected engines - don't have fuel pumps. They have gravity flow systems and fuel bowls in the carburetor to store small amounts of fuel to feed the engine if the unit happens to be tilted. It is important that the fuel in these carburetor float bowls be removed when preparing a unit for storage. ( Each engine and product is different; please contact the engine manufacturer if you need instructions on how to do this.) Be sure to properly dispose of used oils and fuels, in accordance with your local regulations. 2. Keep your fuel clean. Here are some easy ways to keep dirt from getting into your fuel: • Clean debris from around the engine's fuel cap before removing it. • Avoid leaving fuel containers and fuel tanks open, unless absolutely necessary. Leaving them open could allow airborne contaminants into the fuel, hastens the evaporation of volatile fuel components, and may even create a fire hazard. • Don't leave fuel container lids and fuel tank caps lying in dirty areas. • Install in-line fuel filters, where applicable, and change them regularly to help prevent any contaminants that do get inside the fuel system from reaching the carburetor. Fuel filters are available from most engine manufacturers and engine service dealers. • Clean or change engine air filters regularly to prevent contaminants from entering the fuel system via the air intake.

How far will it throw snow

Asked by: art86
Thank-you for your question. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee how far it will throw snow. Please be mindful that you do not throw it back onto the street. Also, it is always a best practice to ensure that all obstacles are removed from the snow throwing area and that no children or pets are in and around the general area.

2-Stage Gas Snowblower 24" - 208 CC is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does a good job Bought this snow blower about a month ago fully assembled from a Lowes store. There was already engine oil in the machine, all I need to do was fill it up with gas. I've used it for the last three snow storms so far this winter. It started every time with a single press of the electric starter button. It is light and small, easy to move around but strong enough to blow through more than a foot thick of snow. There are two minor issues with this snow blower though. First, the chute pitch control lever is not locked in place, heavy snow would push the pitch deflector up. Second, since this is perhaps the smallest two-stage Cadet snow blower, it can handle only light or medium duty. It just can't blow very wet snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I bought the 24" 208cc cub cadet snowblower in store 2 weeks ago. I went back the following weekend to pick it up. (Lowe's will fully assemble for you at no additional charge). Only issue was when assembled, it doesn't fit in anything but a pick-up or Van. I only had to review the manual and add fuel. I had some snow right away so was lucky enough to try it out. The unit works great, engine (electric start) didn't hesitate at all. Everything worked great. Controls are excellent and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superbe achat J'ai acheté ce produit hier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Price is right, good overall performance This first he first SnowBlower i ever bought, i live on 3 acres. Came Assembled from Lowes. I used it mostly to clean off my deck (+50ft) from all the snow that comes off my roof from the solar panels when i clean them. I had about16" of snow on the deck from end to end and it went through it fairly easy(lots of compact snow). I made trails in the backyard (~8" of snow) very easily for the dogs. It started no problem at -30 degrees. The electric started did NOT work however(out of the box), but i just pull the crank once and it starts so no big deal for me on that one. The snow shoots very far too, could be a bit better traction in the snow, maybe better tires but over all good unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit - Great value Cub Cadet 208cc 24in SB Just purchased this unit. Pre-built at Lowe’s. Paid $820 during boxing sale and further 10% off. Great deal great value. Machine fired right up. Like the flat tread tires — hard rubber no tube, provides better stability and lightweight easy to handle. I snow blowed frozen pond approx 60’ x 110’, approx 4 inches snow in 40 minutes. Big game tomorrow. Should be fun. The head light was a nice touch, the chute turns relatively easy. This is all you need. 1st time i bought a cub cadet product, we’ll see how it goes..rest of the winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NO power steering after buying this blower, I discovered that it doesnt have power steering. I spoke with RONA management and it seems that they didnt care to change the description. the machine is good but somebody should rectify the mistake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine. Blows snow very well. Went through 2 feet of snow with no issue as well as a 4 foot plowed bank. Plastic tires seem to provide good traction.Light enough for two people to load onto the back of a pick up truck to transport. Fairly quiet. Second one purchased based review from an older sibling. Only issue was some spare parts were not provided when the unit was picked up. Will see if Lowes will provide them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine Really good machine. Not designed to start on the first pull - instructions say to prime it, pull cord slowly until hard to pull, them do a fast pull. It starts right up. The model up does offer the feature to turn the machine, that would be nice to have when doing a 180 degreee turn, but I got used to operating without it pretty quickly. It would be worth considering for the extra $100.
