15-A Switch with Nightlight is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine (I posted this same thing yesterday as a comment on someone else's review by accident. :) It was supposed to be a review of its own. Oops.) This lights up the bathroom just fine, makes the target easy to find in the dark, if you get my meaning, without using up a ton of energy. Those commenters who claim this device passes current through the light fixture, or that the switch turns the nightlight section off, are probably not wiring it according to directions. The LED has its own neutral and does not pass current through the light fixture if properly wired. If you wire it as shown in the instructions - black screw to hot, top white screw to neutral, bottom white screw to light fixture black lead, light fixture white lead to neutral - it works as you would expect. The switch controls the fixture independently of the LED, and the LED remains powered independent of the switch position. RTFM, guys! :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for All Lighting Types Only works with incandescent lighting and magnetic rapid start fluorescent ballasts. For example, I wanted to use these with 32W standard fluorescent shop lights. When the switch is off, there is a faint glow in all of them (not good). This is because to power the LED in this, a small current is always present. In higher wattage lighting, this should not be noticeable, but still dangerous. Incandescents absorb the current without glowing, and MRS ballast circuits "hold" it. But not CFL and fluorescent. They just burn up. I have not tested it with LED lighting. Would love to see comments on that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it! Installation was pretty easy and the instructions are easy to follow. If I had to find something to complain about it would be that two of the terminals weren't obviously marked (the load and the neutral terminals.) But again, the instructions were very clear, the brass terminal is the hot and the silver is the neutral. Instructions for how to turn off and on and adjust the brightness were straightforward. The range of brightness that the light can be set at is very broad, from barely on to just as bright as an incandescent night light. One more thing to talk about is the photocontrol in it. Works like it should: comes on when the ambient light is low and turns off when a light is turned on or the room fills up with sunlight. It might take a couple minutes for the light to turn on or off but I'm not having an issue with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product This product is great and the nightlight gives off plenty of light for anyone concerned about its brightness. I have the switch installed in my hallway, where it is pitch black at night, but the nightlight provides more than adequate light to see. Be sure to check the existing switch you will be replacing for a neutral wire (white) before buying this switch, otherwise the nightlight won't function. I plan on buying a few more of these switches for around the house and the kids' rooms. So I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. One more thing... don't bother buying the screwless faceplate that they sell along side these at your local Lowe's, I had trouble getting the faceplate flush against the wall and for $3 to $4. It was an expensive hassle. Just buy a regular face plate that fits and save yourself the trouble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Dimmable Nightlight Switch This is a great alternative to standard nightlights that plug in. It works great. I especially like the dimming feature, because this light is quite bright for how small it is. We also bought a night light/plug in receptacle (hard wired) in a different brand than Cooper, this switch is definitely the brighter of the two. We did have an issue with our CFL's blinking on initial installation, like another reviewer, but that was due to our error in wiring. If the nightlight only turns on when you flip the switch, it is wired wrong. Be sure to follow the diagram wiring and it will work properly. The nightlight can turn on and off by pushing the actual light itself, not the switch. You can dim the nightlight by pushing the light and holding it down to desired brightness. Upon correct installation the nightlight will blink a few times to show you it is working.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will NOT work with energy saving bulbs !!! Will NOT work with energy saving bulbs !!! Quick description When the switch is in the ON position, the LED nightlight is OFF When the switch is in the OFF position, the LED nightlight gets its power path through the “filament” of the light fixture. Thus depending on the ambient light, the nightlight turns on. So what is wrong with this concept? That means that when the light-switch is in the OFF position, it is not really OFF as there is a slight current going through your bulbs to feed the LED nightlight. Does that matter? When you use regular bulbs, you probably would not notice the slight glow BUT when you use fluorescent lights, LED bulbs or CFL's they MIGHT FLICKER when the switch is in the OFF position. Not only will it drive you nuts, it will burn out your energy saving bulbs in no time. What is the point in buying an energy saving LED nightlight if it does not work with energy saving bulbs? There is no mention in the documentation of the product's discrepancy. From a safety prospective, a warning label should have been affixed that the light-switch does not fully turn the circuit OFF It has been reported that adding a bigger load to the same switch might reduce or eliminate the flicker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BrightLight The light switch was easy to install. But you do have to add an extra wire for the night light to work. I like the fact that I could dim the light because the light on its brightest setting is pretty bright for a night light. I put the light in the separate room in the bathroom with my toilet where there is not a plug for a night light.
