The RONA Foundation: Unleashing the potential of youth

Created in 1998, the RONA Foundation provides assistance for young people between the ages of 12 and 30 by supporting organizations and projects that fight against problems such as dropping out of school or illiteracy, or that offer them training so that they can work at a trade or in a profession.

The RONA Foundation is dedicated to helping young people experiencing difficulty or those who come from under privileged backgrounds to believe in themselves and in their future — for their own benefit, first of all, but also for the good of their communities. The RONA Foundation focuses on fundraising. The money raised is turned over to registered charitable organizations whose activities are devoted to achieving RONA’s vision for the development of young people today.

The RONA Foundation continued its growth and development in 2008. More than $350,000 was distributed to 51 organizations across the country. The fact that 40% of these funds were invested in organizations outside Quebec is evidence of our mission’s pan-Canadian expansion. In its youth development activities, the RONA Foundation prefers to establish long-term agreements that allow its partners to work in a sustained and sustainable manner and to make a real difference in the lives of the young people they benefit.

Working together to help today's youth

The RONA Foundation works to make the most of its fundraising activities by establishing long-term partnership agreements with organizations that share its vision. By strengthening the financial security and ensuring the survival of these organizations, the women and men who put their hearts and souls into them are more able to dedicate their energies to helping young people in need.

Applying for grants

First and foremost is our commitment to young peple and to organizations whose goals match those of our Foundation and its mission that aim to help young people realize their full potential and find their place in the job market:
  • Dropout prevention projects
  • Vocational training programs
  • Scholarships that allow youth from underprivileged backgrounds to complete their studies for a trade or profession
  • On-the-job training
  • Employment programs for underprivileged youth

If your community organization is registered and its mission reflects the values of the RONA Foundation, we invite you to submit your application for financial aid directly by mail. This application should include one or more documents that very briefly describe your organization or project, together with your downloaded and duly completed Application for financial aid form.

Making a donation

The best way to help young people in collaboration with the RONA Foundation is to participate in its fundraising activities. The most important of these is our Annual Golf Day. You can also help our cause by forwarding a cheque to the “RONA Foundation” at the address shown under « Contact us ».
