January 15, 2010 - RONA joins forces with Red Cross to bring relief to Haitian earthquake victims |
Boucherville (Quebec), January 15, 2010– RONA Inc. (TSX: RON), the largest Canadian distributor and retailer of hardware, renovation and gardening products has joined forces with the Canadian Red Cross to bring relief to earthquake victims in Haiti. As a partner, RONA is appealing to the generosity of Canadians and its own employees for help. Donations can be made at the cash in all RONA, Réno-Dépôt and TOTEM stores across the country. All money raised will be handed over to the Canadian Red Cross.

“The tragic events in Haiti have touched us all,” said RONA president and CEO Robert Dutton. “I urge all RONA customers to join us in a nationwide show of support for the people of Haiti by giving generously.”
Aside from fundraising, RONA is also working with the Red Cross to determine the best course of action to help the Haitian population. This will allow RONA to figure out the most effective way to put its know-how and contributions to use in producing the most good towards helping rebuild a country that has already suffered through so much.
