Room lighting schemes
Lighting is a very important element of decoration. It's lighting that determines the atmosphere in a home, i.e., a warm or cool atmosphere. Because of this, bad lighting can ruin an entire decoration project.
Windows are the primary source of lighting in a home, with other lighting sources added to create the desired effect. Recommendations are made according to the different rooms in the house and the type of activity that takes place.
In the kitchen, it is important to light the work areas; the oven, sink and counters. Recessed halogen projectors or ceiling mounted lamps provide the general lighting. Add small fluorescent lights under the cupboards to increase counter lighting.
The dining room
To create an atmosphere that favors mealtime communication, it is essential that a rheostat be installed on the suspended light. The ideal height for this light is 36 inches above the table or 5 1/2 feet from the floor. The bulbs produce a more intimate atmosphere. However, it is necessary to make sure that the light is not at eye level. It is also important that the remainder of the room is not left in the dark. Small lamps placed on a buffet will serve to create background lighting.
