Repainting a window or a door may seem complicated at first. But if you use this method, you will see that is not difficult at all.

1. Position the frame

Open the window by partially raising the lower sash and partially lowering the upper sash.

2. Paint the grilles

Paint the accessible parts of the grilles.

3. Paint the sash

Paint the lower sash and the accessible part of the upper sash.

4. Reverse the frame

Reverse the position of the sashes and complete the painting.

5. Paint the casing

Paint the accessible portion of the jamb.

6. Let dry

Let dry completely.

7. Replace the windows

Replace the windows in their original position (step 1).

8. Paint the brickmould

Finish painting the brickmould

9. Paint the edges

Paint the edges of the window.

10. Scrape off paint

Use the razor blade to scrape off paint stains and drips on the window panes.
