The depth and texture of this richly panelled wall completely transform the look of this bathroom. Painted in a romantic dusty mauve, the wall’s rectilinear design is a striking backdrop to the curved lines and arabesque motifs of the vintage-style furniture and accessories.

Step-by-step instructions
Measure the wall and prepare the design with masking tape. Keep in mind the width of the slats
when measuring!
Check the level.
Glue and nail the vertical slats.
Measure the distance between the vertical slats.
Cut and glue the horizontal slats. Make sure everything is level.
Seal the holes and paint the wall and the slats.
For a truly original look, paint each square a different colour or paint the mouldings a contrasting colour. You could even play up the romantic theme by adding finishing mouldings to the inside of each square.
