Decorative Cement-block Wall - global village style
A purely decorative "country-style" wall made of two rows of parallel blocks that sit on a stable surface, such as a 6" bed of compacted gravel or a slab of cement.
Place the first two rows of blocks parallel and back to back (i.e. the shortest side of each block pointing towards the inside of the wall) and mark the wall location.
Remove the blocks and dig a 6" trench along the length and width of the wall.
Place 5" of gravel in the trench and compact it with a vibrating plate.
Place 1" of stone dust and compact again.
Building the wall
On the compacted gravel, lay the two rows of the first level of blocks.
Place the second level of blocks on the first, while offsetting it by one block, forming steps at each end of the wall.
Then install the last four levels, continuing to form steps.
Note: Glue together the rows two by two: 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6.
