They decorate beds, armchairs, sofas and simple blankets dropped on the floor to watch television. At times it becomes a projectile in the kids' "wars". Its versatility really has no limits.

Originality and the quality of fabrics are the two factors that make cushions noticeable. At the same time, you should not lose sight of the fact that comfort is important. That is why cushions should be made of washable fabrics, be fitted with a zipper that eases maintenance and be stuffed with hypoallergenic fabrics and materials.

The caressing cushion

You'll appreciate its velvet or "polar" fibre finish, which you can cut with pinking shears. Often matched to other fabrics, the caressing cushion can also be made of wool. It is assembled with fabric glue and decorated with embroidery or fringe. Its inviting textures and colours will caress you and soften those difficult moments in your daily routine. Nothing can match a nice cushion covered in patchwork.

The theme cushion

Whether you choose a Victorian style or a more mundane theme, such as your child's favourite animal to decorate his or her bedroom, you'll find the theme cushion adaptable and convenient. Its casing or outer envelope is often embroidered and may be held together with decorative strings, buckles or small tassels. In order to reinforce the selected theme, you should carefully chose the fabric, the shape and size of the cushion. You could just as easily opt for a circular or triangular shape or a cat's profile.
