Build a multi-purpose bench - global village style
This handy bench, which can also be used as a table, will add warmth and charm to your decor. Find the right spot for it and it will quickly be adopted by the whole family!
Cut the 2" x 6" lengthwise so as to make a 4 ½" wide part for the top boards A.
Cut the 1" x 6" lengthwise so as to make a 4" wide part for the two brackets B.
Lay the three top boards A on the ground, parallel with one another.
Screw in the two brackets B at right angles, spacing them 21" apart.
Cut a 30o angle at each end of the four legs C.
With two parts C, make an “X” on the ground to form one of the legs. Lean the inside up against a wall to check the alignment, then screw them together through the centre. Repeat for the other leg.
Centre and screw the legs C to the brackets B from underneath.
Insert the centre brace D between the legs C and nail into place with finishing nails.
