Conditions applicable to online purchases made on RONA.ca
Online purchasing through the RONA inc. Web site is regulated by the sales conditions stipulated below. Please read them carefully because your buying through the RONA inc. website is evidence of your acceptance of those conditions and of any modification that may be made to them from time to time.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
Please note that the information found on www.rona.ca reflects data available to RONA inc. at the time the site was developed. It represents the best information we were able to obtain overall. Despite the care taken by RONA inc. in ensuring accuracy of such information, errors may have occurred.
There are no guarantees, expressed or implied, with respect to the RONA inc. site and/or any of the information it contains. For accurate descriptions of products, please refer to the descriptive texts of the product illustrations.
RONA reserves the right to cancel an Internet order at any time and without further notice.
The rona.ca website offers visitors an online shopping experience that is inspiring and informative. It is mostly destined to individuals, whereas construction and renovation contractors are invited to visit our specialised website destined for contractors.
AVAILABILITY OF PRODUCTS
After selecting a store, you can see the availability of a product by clicking on the image and opening the detailed product page. Below the price, you will find the product’s inventory status (in blue):
- "X units available at the selected store": The product is available at the currently selected store*;
- "Check availability with your store": Unknown, limited or no inventory. It might be a discontinued product;
- "X units available online": The product is available at the distribution centre.
If the “Add To Cart” button is available: the currently selected store can prepare the order. Additional preparation time may be required if the article needs to be transferred from the distribution centre.
“Check Other Availability”: press this button to check the availability of product in surrounding “big box” stores.
*Inventory shown as of yesterday. RONA inc. makes every effort to stock sufficient quantities of products sold through its Internet site. However, RONA inc. cannot guarantee availability of such products and the products may slightly differ from the images presented in the detailed product sheet on the website. Despite the care taken by RONA inc., errors may occur. When error in pricing or product availability is found, it is corrected in our system. RONA inc. accepts no responsibility for damages resulting from stock-outs or delays in delivery.
METHODS OF PAYMENT/BILLING
Rona.ca uses a pre-authorisation (pre-auth) online system. VISA and MasterCard credit cards issued by Canadian banks as well as RONAdvantages, RONA VISA card and the RONA Commercial card are accepted for the pre-authorisation.
When you place an online order, a pre-authorization for the purchase price amount is obtained on the credit account that is used for payment to verify credit and to ensure that a valid card number has been entered.
These funds are held temporarily and will drop off your account after a few days. The actual charge will be posted when the order is completed at the store level.
Because of unforeseeable market fluctuations, RONA inc. reserves the right to modify prices on products sold through its Internet site at any time, without prior notice. All prices quoted on the RONA Internet site are in Canadian dollars. The prices of products shown on RONA inc.’s website may differ from the prices shown in RONA stores for the same items. The prices of identical items may also differ from one RONA store to another. Certain additional fees may also be added in store.
Orders placed on www.RONA.ca will be billed at the price indicated on the product’s information sheet (according to the selected store)
Federal and provincial taxes are not included in the prices. The applicable tax rate may vary by province and period. In case of a difference in taxes applied to an online purchase and that in-store, le total amount claimed in store will prevail.
RONA offers two delivery options for products ordered on its Internet site: in-store pick-up and local home delivery (see below).
The payment for your order needs to have been processed by the store before RONA inc. proceeds with delivery of your order.
In-store pick-up (DEFAULT OPTION)
You can pick up your order, at no additional cost, at the RONA store you selected online when placing the order. (Non-participating stores on rona.ca are automatically excluded).
The selected store will prepare your order and get in touch with you once the order is ready. You may be asked to sign an acknowledgement of receipt when picking up your order. If someone else than the card holder will pick up the order and complete the transaction, please notify the store.
Most items will be ready for in-store pick-up within one or two business days, but it may take longer if items are transferred from the distribution center. If for some reason there is an issue with the store's inventory, an in-store associate will contact you to provide additional information about your order. However, please feel free to contact the store at any time if you have any questions regarding your order.
HOME DELIVERY BY YOUR RONA STORE
During the online product purchase process on RONA.ca, you can request home delivery, which is offered by certain stores. However, the service of local delivery is at the discretion of the store, which makes an arrangement with the customer at the time when the order is being prepared in store. At any time, the store reserves the right to require additional delivery fees or to not offer the service at all.
GIFT CARD HOME DELIVERY
Cross-Canada home delivery is available for gift cards only. Please note: delivery is not available to Yukon, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and northern Quebec.
Delivery periods for the gift cards vary depending on destinations. In urban centres, they are delivered within 2 to 5 days following the confirmation of your order. Delivery to remote locations may require up to 7 business days. However, orders placed after 12 p.m. on Fridays will not be processed until the following Monday.
You order is subject to the policies and delivery procedures of Purolator’s shipping service, the shipping company RONA inc. uses to deliver gift cards purchased on its site.
You can track the delivery of your order yourself by visiting Purolator’s website. You will have direct access to the Purolator tracking system. You will need to enter your delivery tracking number in order to conduct a search. You can find this number on the confirmation e-mail you will receive from RONA inc. to confirm your transaction
CANCELLING AN ORDER
To cancel an order made through RONA Inc.’s website, you simply need to contact RONA's Customer Service within the first 24 hours following your purchase. You may do so by calling, toll free, at 1-866-283-2239, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., ET. Please refer to the order number of your purchase as mentioned in the confirmation e-mail you received.
The pre-authorization charge will automatically drop off of your account after a couple of days.
