Ecological Attributes

RONA ECO Pine mouldings are made from 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. This certification guarantees that forest management where the wood originated meets the highest sustainable development standards, which helps ecosystem preservation.
• Maximum use has been made of the wood residues generated by forest industry operations. Bark from the trees is sold to a paper mill, and shavings are incorporated into production of fibreboard panels. These value-added strategies help cut down on overconsumption of valuable natural resources.
• Wood for these mouldings is supplied from a forest that lies within an 800 km radius of the moulding mill. This reduces GHG emissions associated with transport.
• The moulding mill is certified ICI ON RECYCLE! Level 3 by RECYC-QUÉBEC. To qualify for this certification, a factory must recycle 99% of its residual materials.
