W
Wall bracket
Brackets for wall-mounting to store power tools.
Water collecting ring
In diamond core drilling technology, the water collecting ring catches the water coming out of the drilled hole and prevents, in conjunction with a divertor, or an extractor, water or dirt damaging the construction site.
Water pressure container
Wet drilling with diamond core drills requires water to rinse and cool the core cutter. The water pressure container, which looks like a manual garden pump, is intended for use on construction sites where tap water is unavailable.
Water pump
Water pumps are used where tap water has too little pressure or is not recommended for use.Water is pumped from the available source (cisterns, water barrels, a pond, creek or the like) and transported with suitable pressure to the consuming device usually some type of sprinkler. In order to cater for all possible applications, water pumps should feature a good intake height, sufficient pump lift (pressure in bar) and flow rate. An intake height= of 8 m, a pump lift of 35 m and a flow rate of 5000 l/h are considered good. Additional criteria are weight, noise and service life. For the above mentioned reasons, multi-stage centrifugal pumps are preferred over single-stage (jet) models. Water pumps can also be used for evacuation purposes.
Wet grinder
Wet grinders are special versions of the popular angle grinders. These machines are designed for professional sanding and stone cutting in trade and industry. A 3/8" water hose connection is located in the lower section of the transmission housing through which water is supplied to cool the drive shaft. The water comes out at the centre of the spindle and creates a hydroplaning effect between the abrasive body and the workpiece surface. Self-centring, flexible tightening flanges are used to mount the cup wheels.Wet grinders are equipped with CEE-type plugs and must be operated at all times with an isolating transformer. A machine with protective insulation is thus combined with an isolating transformer, also with protective insulation.
Note:
A wet grinder requires an isolating transformer. The secondary socket on the isolating transformer must not be used to connect an extension cord, for branching-off or power distribution. Alternatively, the use of a residual-current-operated circuit breaker is possible. The operation of a wet grinder with an operating voltage of 110 volts should be preferred at all times to a tool with an operating voltage of 220 V. Isolating transformers are available for both operating voltages, this also applies to wet grinders.

Wood
Wood is a natural product. Timber or structural wood is made from trees. There are as many types of wood as there are tree species. Woodis one of the earliest materials which man used for construction purposes. Application categories are based on group affiliation (coniferous wood, deciduous wood) or on properties (light, soft timber, medium-heavy timber, and heavy, hard timber.)
Wood is a grown material with a structure and texture which has to be taken into account during processing and the production of pre-fab wood components (grain direction, sapwood/heartwood etc.). Waste products from wood processing can be adequately recycled (particle board, cellulose), however they can also present a health and environmental hazard (dust and sap from various hardwood and tropical trees). Certain tropical timbers are gained by uncontrolled cutting and ruthless exploitation of the forests which can turn whole regions into deserts and change the local climate. Increasingly so-called substitute timbers are being introduced with similar properties as tropical timbers which, however, are easier to cultivate.

Working pressure
The pressure which builds up at a maximum water flow with the smallest standard spray nozzle and under continuous operation of a high-pressure cleaner. Measured at the point of exit on the pressure generator.
Working length
The term working length has a number of meanings. Drill bits have an overall length of which one part is needed to clamp or fix the bit in the tool holder. The working length can also indicate the effective length in certain operations.
