Manometer
Pressure gauge.
The manometer in a high-pressure cleaner shows the pump pressure.

Magnetic base
The magnetic foot is the baseplate of a magnetic drill stand.
Magnetic drill stand
Drill stand which can be attached to ferrous metal surfaces with the help of a magnetic base. Used mainly for heavy-duty drills in structural steel engineering.
Magnet holder
Steel screws are easily picked up with a magnet holder and the appropriate accessories; they can be safely processed with electric screwdrivers and drill/drivers in one-hand operation.
Mains voltage
This is the voltage which is available to consumers through the mains network of your local power supply company. Currently it is being changed from 220 to 230 V in Europe.
Material
General term for processed stock or raw materials.
Maximum permissible value
Highest possible value (speed, load, temperature) specified for technical or security reasons which must not be exceeded during operation.
Measuring bar, measuring scale
The depth stop in the auxiliary handle of drills and impact drills as well as rotary hammers has a measuring bar with a depth scale.
Measuring range
Effective range in which a measuring instrument indicates the desired minimum and maximum values. measuring instruments can be equipped with several measuring ranges which can be changed manually or automatically.
Metal claws, profiled claws, joint claws
These claws are used with tackers to make invisible joints between profiled wooden components.
Micro tools
Micro tools are precision tools for drilling, sanding, polishing, sawing and routing from the BOSCH micro-line. They are usually operated at low voltage through a transformer.
Milestones in power tool development
1928: The first Bosch power tool is produced: The "Forfex" hair clipper. The hair clipper was the first power tool in the world with protective insulation.
1932 : The first electric hammer with a twisting impact system for chiseling and drilling went into series production.
1946 : The world's first jigsaw is developed and manufactured by Scintilla AG in Switzerland.
1952 : Protective insulation for power tools becomes standard at Bosch.
1966 : The Combi-E program for DIY enthusiasts is launched on the market.
1975 : The SDS-plus insertion system is developed and introduced worldwide.
1981 : The world's first rotary hammer below 2.5 kg is developed and included in the range.
1984 : Series production of the first cordless rotary hammer in the world starts up.
1985 : The power hand saw is launched on the market. The first DIY rotary hammer in the world with a weight of only 1.8 kg is manufactured.
1988 : The random orbit sander appears on the market.
1989 : The first rotary hammers and chipping hammers in the 5-kg class with SDS-max insertion are introduced to the market.
1992 : The first intelligent impact drill is produced.
1993 : The new 10 kg demolition hammer, the new 4-kg rotary hammer, the delta sander and the multisaw start series production.
1994 : The quiet shredder is introduced to the public as the first shredder with only 84 dB(A).
1995 : The wallpaper steam stripper PTL 1 is introduced.
1996 : The electric scraper appears on the market.
1997 : Series production of the compact belt sander begins and Dremel produces the Multiform sander for DIY enthusiasts. The diamond drilling system is included in the product range.
1998 : The power tenon saw with miter jig is introduced as a world first.
1999 : SDS-top, a new patented drill bit insertion system is introduced for the 4-kg rotary hammer. SDS-plus S4, a new hammer drill bit system with 4-fold helix appears on the market.
