Looking grand

In this bright dining room with its magnificent chandelier and rich, opulent decor, we wanted to create an unpretentious yet festive table setting. The starting point was a round table – the ideal shape to allow guests to chat comfortably. We chose to pick out the red on the china by bringing in a few details in the same bold crimson – a large clear glass bowl filled with tempting red apples is all that’s needed for that extra little touch. A vase of sunny yellow flowers and an attractive frosted glass ice bucket for cooling a good bottle of wine completes the look without overloading the table. Our tip: look for fruit and flowers that are in season.

Say it with flowers

This is a spacious dining room that gives onto the garden, and our idea was to give it something of a country-style feel in keeping with the room’s traditional decor. Decorating the table are dainty bouquets of flowers and greenery in individual vases. We went for yellow flowers but you could just as easily choose a colour that picks up one of the shades in the room decor.

We created a magnificent bouquet of Calla lilies with other pretty flowers in white and yellow to sit in front of the mirror on the console table. The arrangement takes the eye up and lends a rather spectacular flourish to the decor. With a chunky candle framing the flower arrangement on both sides, the room is ready to celebrate!
